Bad Dreams Posted: 10-27-06 16:55pm
I keep getting these dream and they are
starting to freak me out abit, im so
worried about the kids that I dream of
something happening to them and I wake up
crying arrghh its nerve racking!
Besides that, im a complete failure when
it comes to driving standard, I stalled 14
times in 45 mins, I dont think ill ever
get the concept or be able to drive my car
arrghh!! I even got my dad to show me
how to drive standard cause I know he
wouldnt scream at me or make rude comments
like bf/dh usually do (learned the first
time.)
thing is I have to learn how to drive
standard by next week as I am the primary
driver of the explorer (insurance wise)
ack!
C'est la vie!

Well kinda.. I havnt done it in a long
time... It takes awhile.. I mainly
stalled on hills because I was sooo
nervous of hitting the car behind me..
But shawn explained to me how to avoid
that rolling back.. He said step on the
gas rev it pretty dam good and take ur
foot of the clutch.. If you do a burn out
oh well. Lol.. I unno about that one lol

You just have to practice, once you get it
down it never leaves you. I learned how
to drive in a standard and that was over
12 years ago (man, i'm old!) and if I have
to I can still drive standard just fine.
I just don't like it because there are a
lot of hills here and I hate having to
stop at the top of a hill and being afraid
of rolling into the car behind me, but you
kind of just have to gun it. And once
you get the hang of it you don't need to
listen to the motor, you can just feel
when you need to shift.
Just go out and drive around for a really
long time, maybe stay on backroads where
there aren't a lot of other cars. Good
luck!

Lol
standard aka 5-speed, where you have to
shift every now and again and use the
clutch as opposed to automatic where you
just put it in drive and go.

i have the same problem .Jess! It starts
after you become a mother. I was a little
paranoid to begin with that it multiplied
after having .Brian.
There's nothing you can really do about
it.

I know I would be complete crap at driving
a standard. I'm not even going to bother
learning. I'm pretty sure my husband
knows how, so that's good enough for me.
