Im 39 4 wks and I want it out.. I know she is very developed bc I had a scare in my 6th month so they gave me 2 shots of beta carotene (sp?) for lung development.. I was wondering if anyone tried it and how that went for them

Do you feel like sitting on the toilet all night? I'd rather try spicy foods, walking, sex, etc... You're almost there! She'll be out soon!

I know how you feel though, i'm due on tuesday and i'm so ready.

You'll be miserable. I read that it may make you go into labor but you'll have the craps to boot...

Yes it works. But you will be on the pot all day till you get all the poop out. Lol good luck!!! At least you know you want poop on yourself when you are giving birth.

Tastes like crap- doesn't do anything! Believe me I tried everything to induce my labours. I was lucky cause they both came at 38 weeks but I was going insane to get them here! Lol

Are you talking to me or the person that made the post? What does taking the oil do to your babies lungs exactly? Im not making the connection?

no, if you induce yourself purposely before your baby is due, the lungs are not fully matured. The lungs are the last thing to develop and generally you go into labor when everything is ready, including the lungs.
Who really wants to see their baby on a breathing machine?

Ok first of all like I said in the post.. I have had the shots to develop the lungs. So I can honestly say im not worried about my babies lungs. And there is nothing wrong with me wanted to hold my newborn now.. Its not like shes a premie!!! So keep ur judgements to urself

Obviously if you had to get shots to improve your baby's lungs there was something wrong. Quit being selfish.

I didn't think that anything actually 'induced' labour before it was ready other than what they give you at the hospital. I don't see how castor oil will make a baby come out if it is not ready to. Confused

Ok seriously if u must know.. I had some unexplained bleeding (nothing to do with the pregnancy in the long run!) before they knew this I was given 2 beta carotene shots as a precaution. So dont assume anything until u know the story. There is nothing wrong with my girl. And I have no idea how I can be selfish for this. I have not tried castor oil, was just curious if others had and the result. Some ppl judge way to freaking fast on here

About the lung thing, if you are close to your due date or over.. I wouldnt worry. The drs will induce you anyways! Someone told me about some kind of herb you can take a lot of to induce.. I cant remember the name off the top of my head.

I would be too paranoid to put anything into my body to force it into labor.

Try some physical activity, like walking and sex. And as tough as the last weeks of pregnancy are, you won't be pregnant forever. Your baby *will* eventually get here!
