I found out a week ago I had genital
warts, and now i have some pimples all
over my legs (upper) and buttocks. I have
been under a lot of stress and also
wearing jeans everyday. The pimples are
red and have pus, they look like clogged
pores and are itchy. Waht is it? Is it
anyhow related to hpv???
Genital warts are caused by a virus called
the Human Papiloma Virus (HPV). There are
many serotypes of HPV. Some of them cause
warts on the skin and some on the genital
mucosa. Genital warts are sexually
transmitted and should be taken very
seriously because some serotypes of HPV
may cause cervical dysplasia and cancer.
Warts (mucosal or skin) do not contain
pus. Those “red pimples with pus” on
your legs are probably not warts but
perhaps result from superficial
folliculitis caused by a bacterial
infection on the skin. You can see a
dermatologist to check them out. A cream
containing antibiotics and corticosteroids
will be probably needed for treatment.
