Should I see a Specialist?
Posted: 10-30-06 11:49am

I've been getting a mild yet stinging type pain in the right side of the top part of my head that randomly comes and goes. When the pain strikes it only lasts 10-20 seconds and then it fades. I'd say it happends about 3-4 times a day and I havent had any injuries in the area. This has been going on for about 2 months now and I've been debating if I should go back to the hospital to get it checked out. I went about a month ago for another issue and mentioned the pain. They checked my eyes and told me since I didnt have a Fever with it, it probably wasnt serious. I was expecting a scan but they didnt think it needed to be done. I've also been Feeling a bit dizzy. It Feels like I'm really tired all the time, but I don't notice it when I'm busy. I'm a pack a day smoker and while holding a cigarette I noticed that my hands are shaking, but that may be from the nicotine. Please tell me what you think may be causing these symptoms.

A headache is the most common symptom in medical practice. Headaches can be present during many different conditions. It is hard to identify what your symptoms are attributed to (headache, hand shacking, dizziness and tiredness), but if your headache lasts for more than 2 months, you can start diagnostic examinations by requesting a CT-scan of the head.
