Miscarry :(
Posted: 11-01-06 00:03am

Ok I found out from my doctor last week that my baby isn't going to make it. I took it so hard!! Well that was a week ago and nothing has happened. She told me that if by three weeks nothing still hasn't happened that I have to make another appointment. So i'm curious, how long does this usually take and is it just going to happen or happen little by little??

-thanks

She said that my hormone levels would not go up ( I was on meds and doing blood tests), and they measured my baby at 5 weeks almost 6 and could not find a heart beat.

Almost a yr ago exactly (oct 6, 2005) I miscarried. I found out a wk before that, that I was pregnant. So I made an appointment and I had no idea how far along I was. To find out, my doctor gave me an ultrasound. My baby was measuring 6 weeks and they said it didn't have a heartbeat so they gave me these pills to stick in "there" to make me cramp and get everything out.

Sorry to hear about that. I dont really know what to say. But if nothing does happen and you have to go back to the doc, I would definatly request an ultrasound!!!

Do you think that hormone level would really effect it??
Cus I feel that my baby really is still alive.

Okat that is messed up that they gave you pills to abort the fetus at 6 weeks.
My doctor didnt get a heart beat until 12 weeks and he said it is extremely rare to get a heartbeat before then.

I think she meant finding the heartbeat by ultrasound, which at 6 weeks should be visible. I agree though that it seems like they were a little hasty about the pills. I would've demanded another ultrasound a week or so later to see if there had been any changes. Maybe she just wasn't as far along as she thought.

yeah, it wasn't visible on the ultrasound at 6 wks. They told me there was nothing else I could do and that I needed to take those pills b/c it wasn't healthy to keep it in there. I had just turned 16, so it's not like I knew what to do. I just wanted the situation to be over so I listened to my doctor.

I miscarried at about 5wks this past summer.
I had an ultrasound when .I was supposed to
be 6wks, but was only measuring 5wks.
I bled for a little over a week, &passed
everything through about 6 days into my bleeding.

&.Yeah, at 6wks, a heartbeat should be
visible via ultrasound. I had an ultrasound
at 6wks exactly with this pregnancy, &the
heartbeat was chuggin' away. At 10wks,
.I heard the heartbeat via doppler.

Wr17 i'm sorry to hear that. I understand that you were only young and I don't want to make you feel bad about it but I would of demanded a 2nd ultrasound a week or so later. With my 1st ultrasound they couldn't see a heartbeat so they got me to come back a week later and there it was. U might not of been 6 weeks- only 5...
