40 Week Appointment

I just got back. I'm 2 cm. Dilated finally!!! The doctor said that if I have 2 contractions back to back to just go to the hospital and not wait. He said that when it happens, it'll be quick. He said to pack our bags, put gas in the car, and don't go anywhere. He even asked how far away we lived. Lol
he said that her head is really low. He thinks i'll have her before my doctor comes back on monday, so I won't need to be induced!

Well we just went to a wedding and while we were there I had 4 contractions, 3 minutes apart, so we left. Well on the way home, they were 5 minutes and once we got home they were like 10 minutes. They've been about 10 minutes apart for almost 2 hours. My back is burning and hurting and gets worse with every contraction and i'm starting to feel discomfort in the front. We're making candy apples right now. I'll keep timing and keep you guys posted. I wish I would have asked him what "back to back" meant. If I would have listened to what he said about 2 back to back I would have gone when I had 4 - 3 minutes apart. I'm glad we waited since they slowed down.
I started typing this a little while ago and since then they've become 8 minutes apart.

I slept pretty good last night considering I had terrible back pain and contractions.
The back ache is gone, but the contractions are going strong at 7 minutes apart right now.
How long can this go on until they're 3-5 minutes apart????
I'm not feeling any pain yet, it just gets really tight and I feel some discomfort down there with and without contractions.

I remember that my contractions suddenly went from a regular 6 minutes apart to 2 minutes. I'd been having them 6 minutes apart, at home, for about 6 hours or so and when my waters broke they just suddenly went to 2 minutes. We hopped in the car pretty damn fast then I can tell you because we lived 40 mins away from the hospital. That was when the pain really kicked in - when my waters broke. I only leaked a little at first, with a bit of blood - so was probably my mucus plug coming away. I lost the rest of my waters later on in the hospital.

Best of luck - it definitely sounds like you will be having your baby soon! Smile

I think I just lost what's left of my mucus plug. My underwear was full and I had to wipe about 8 times to get it all out. No blood though. I never bled, not even after exams, so I guess that's okay. We're going to a barbeque, which is only 20 minutes away from the hospital, so if things get worse, we'll be closer.

The stupid contractions are still inconsistent. I'm feeling a little different, but they're 5-12 minutes apart. I'm so aggravated. I'll be okay if she stays in until monday. The doctor on call right now is not my doctor. He likes to do c-sections b/c it's convienent for him and if you do go vaginally, he pushes for no epidural. I don't want a c-section for no reason and I want the darn epidural. I'm scared that he makes me believe that a section is in the best interest of the baby and I don't really need one.
I just went walk at walmart for 2 hours so i'm exhausted. I'm going take a nap.

Just to say with logan I lost my plug and about 12 hours later I went into labour. I think you'll have her by tomorrow!

Good luck!

I would have loved for my doctor to tell me I shouldn't get an epidural. If he's so against epidurals, tell him that he can push your baby out for you. Evil or
Very Mad
