This is my first post!
Dh and I are talking about the possibility of having a baby next year, and we're currently reviewing/comparing the health coverage from our workplaces to see which plan makes more sense if we were to deliver next year. To make a long story short, I am hoping to get some kind of ballpark figure for prenatal/delivery/postnatal costs. I know the answer depends on a lot of factors such as health and location, but is there a general ballpark number we can work with to "do the math" and weigh our options? Do delivery costs run in the hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands (or more)?
a summary of the plans we're comparing:
plan a
prenatal - $20-30 copay, than 100% covered
postnatal - 100% covered
delivery - 90% covered
plan b
prenatal, postnatal and delivery - 100% paid up to the fisrt $2000, after that, we pay 100% up to the next $1000, then after that, company pays 90% thereafter
thanks in advance for your help!
