Chest symptoms occur when resting... Posted: 11-06-06 04:43am
over the past week ive started a diet and
an excersize program. nothing hard just
simple excersize and the day i started
them i developed what felt like someone
poking me in the chest every once in a
while. that was followed by what felt like
a buzzing going on im chest. it feels
like a engine going on im chest-there is
no pain but it keeps me from sleeping and
it seems to happen only at night for some
reason. it goes on and off like a switch.
sometimes i will develop a tingle in my
left hand when this happens. the poking
felling has seem to have gone away but
like clockwork this buzzing comes accross
usually late at night and doesnt go away
till early morning. ive hardly had any
sleep cause of this. if i get up and walk
around a bit it seems to calm down but it
starts back up when i sit down. i was
wondering could this be a blood pressure
issue-i have a unit i bout at the drug
store but the numbers always jump so its
hard to get an accurate read. could this
be a blood sugar problem as well. i know
im very overweight and need to take better
care of myself. sometimes i can get an
anxiety attack and have things on my mind
alot lately. is this stress related.
anywho like i was saying just weird that
this buzzing starts at night and goes away
in the morning. any suggestions? thank
you
The feeling in your chest when resting or
during the night probably has nothing to
do with your heart, blood pressure or
blood sugar. If the symptoms were due to a
heart problem or increased blood pressure,
they would occur during physical
activity... not when resting or sleeping.
Heart problems manifest more during
physical activity than when resting. Your
symptoms may be due to mental stress. In
any case, you can go to your primary
health provider to check your blood
pressure, blood sugar, blood cholesterol
and triglycerides and to request an ECG.
If everything is OK, then stress and
anxiety remain possible causes for the
symptoms.
