Lots of Problems
Posted: 11-06-06 05:07am

Hello, I just joined this forum because I have a problem that has been going on since january of 2006 and no doctor can seem to figure it out yet. Out of the blue the right side of my face started to swell up. It seems like I have a weird lump that keeps going up and down on the right side of my face under my eye. I keep having weird pain in my upper teeth once in a while and they jump from the right side to the left side and back. I thought that I had a bad tooth and teeth. I went to a dentist and he referred me to an endodontist which referred me to an oral surgeon. My results were that all my teeth check vital and its something else, maybe a blocked duct. I have had sialograms, ct scans, mri, done of my whole head. The result was that I was only born with one parotid duct. I am missing one of my left side of my face, but I have one on the right side. I ask myself, if that is the case and I have been like this all my life, then why all of a sudden if this happening. On top of that, my blood platelets have been low for the past 3 months, they are stuck at 119. Also I do have acne and seboherea dermatitis on the face. I take differin and benzyclin for the acne. Alcometasone diprotionate for the dermatitis. I also take tetracycline for the acne. I am 21 years old and I have no clue why this is happening to me. I have a job, workout, and go to college. I had a bone marrow test done to check and see if I have itp. My blood is making b-12 and folic acid which makes platelets, but the problem is where are they going. Could it be associated with anything my facial swelling. Could it be I have a bad tooth or teeth because it doesn't hurt when I chew or anything, just on and off pain. The swelling fluxuates as well, it goes up and down. I hope some one can point me to the right direction because I just want to enjoy a normal life, finish school, and not have these weird problems. Thank you all and I greatly appreciate it.

I could be sjogren's syndrome. At least swelling of the patroid gland is a symptom of the syndrome.
