I'm a nervous wreck...Thursday I go to the
doctor for an ultrasound, an internal, and
a non-stress test. I am so nervous that
my blood pressure is going to still be
high... The doctor said that if it is
high, then they are inducing me next week!
I'm not sure if i'm ready to have her 3
weeks early! I'm so nervous... I hope
my bp is normal... I am scared about an
induction because I hear they can fail and
I heard that you have to be dilated 2 cm
and effaced 40% for them to be
successful... What if i'm not? Will I
have to have a c-section? *sigh* I
haven't been checked internally yet (not
since my first appointment). My doctor
didn't want to add any stress since my bp
was already so high... I'm so nervous
about it all... I wish that I was just a
little closer to my due date... I'm
really hesitant about having her early...
I assumed she would go over due and here
I am having to worry about having her
early... *sigh*
thanks for listening ladies

Does your dr have you on bed rest? Try to
stay as calm as possible and I know that
it is easier said than done but at least
rest as much as possible.
I hope that you are not working! We are
here for you! You and your baby are in my
thoughts and hopes!

Sandy, my doctor told me to resume normal
activity! I thought this was outrageous,
but my doctor is giving me non-stress
tests twice a week to determine if the
hypertension is effecting the baby. He
said that making my blood pressure rise is
the only way they'll know, so he wants me
to act as I would normally act so my blood
pressure will stay high through the
testing... This doesn't seem right to
me... But he's the doctor!

just had .Finn). I am no dr but you might
ask her. Maybe your dr does have his
reason for doing this (who knows).

The non-stress test is this test they do
to see how the baby's heart rate reacts to
her movement. They hook you up to a fetal
monitor and watch the heart rate. I have
pih (pregnancy induced hypertenison).
It's high persistent high blood pressure
with protein in the urine. Some symptoms
include severe swelling, and headaches,
blurry vision, nausea, and pain in your
upper stomach.
