Q: Confirming a Pregnancy
asked by: DoctorQuestion on November 6th, 2006
I had my period on the 19th of Oct. then i had sex on the 26th. The past 2 days my stomach feels like its score or like in knots. I am under a lot of stress due to school and then also thinking about being pregnant and that stresses me out even more. I just wanted to see what you thought.

All the somatic symptoms you mention are very subjective and can’t be secure signs of early pregnancy. There is one simple (but very sure) method to check if you are pregnant or not. That is the urine-based HPT pregnancy test. You can use a home pregnancy test that uses urine for confirming or excluding pregnancy. You can take a home pregnancy test if your next period is late. Pregnancy tests are usually performed when the period is late. HPT pregnancy tests are effective when performed up to 5 days before your next period comes.
