When you got pregnant what, if any, birth
control were you using as your "main"
birth control?

you might be lucky. I had my daughter on
the pill. I now have a coil in- I would
highly recommend it!

We used condoms until we got married.
Then we used the "pull and pray" for a
year and a half, but I don't think we
honestly would have minded had we gotten
pregnant. We decided to try for a baby at
the beginning of .November, and I had my
bfp by .Thanksgiving!

I'm kind of stuck with pull and pray. I
have a reaction to bc pills/shots because
of the hormones. They unbalance me and
make me depressed/suicidal. I just tried
the lowest dose they have available and it
did the same thing. Needless to say i'm
not on it anymore. H*ll, i'd rather be
pregnant than depressed/suicidal. Lucky
me i'm also allergic to latex. I talked
with my doc about iud but with my history
of infection she thinks pid would be too
much of a risk for me.

He'll probably change his mind the first

sleep.

well if you really want to prevent a
pregnancy... (not saying you do) there
are other options available.
The female condom
is latex free, you can also get latex free
male condoms.
The oves cap and fem
cap are latex free, diaphragms come in
both latex and sillicone.
buffergel
duet, silcs and
leah's sheild are all latex free
sillicone.
Then there is the sponge,
all of these products can be used with spermicide or
the spermicide can be used on it's own.
Just to show you can avoid hormonal birth
control and latex and still not have to
rely on pull and pray.

anything inserted is guaranteed to cause
an infection, hell I sometimes get them
from sex, especially if it's too long or
too rough. I'm a biological weirdo.
If I go a month without one (an infection)
then I run to the doctor cuz I think
something is wrong. you had a few
options that i've tried. I guess I
could do the polyeurethane condoms like I
used to. They're pretty d*mn expensive
so i'll be getting a lot less sex
hey, that may not be a bad thing!

i listed them all because I *know* lots of
lurkers use this site and because you
aren't alone in a latex reaction or
intolerance of hormones.
Do you know why you have recurrent
infections?
*if* you didn't want to get pregnant would
you be able to use spermicide on it's
own?
Are you able to use tampons (sorry for
personal question) because if you can and
you want to avoid pregnancy try a sponge
instead.
Also for all our fellow *lurkers*
polyurethane condoms are *not* affected by
oil based lubes like latex ones.
So if you have a baby oil thing going on
use polyurethane
condoms!!

the only spermicide i've ever "tried" is
nonoxynol 9 and only because it was on the
condom. I got an infection but since the
condom was latex I don't know if it was
the condom, the spermicide or both. I
usually get an infection on my period. I
get them whether I use pads or tampons
even though I change them every two hours
whether it needs to be changed or not. I
have no idea why I get so many infections.
I just thought it was normal until
recently. And even now it never occurred
to me to question why. I just sort of
assumed that even though it wasn't normal
that it's normal for me. Feel me?
Maybe I have some dread disease or
something. Mwahahahahaha!!! J/k.

wow that sucks sorry sweetie
ohhhhh have you tried a mooncup for
periods? It's sillicone (no latex) I keep
meaning to get one and try it.
Nonoxynol-9 rocks it even helps kill or
stop the growth of the hiv virus as well
as the pathogens of other sexually
transmitted infections such as genital
herpes, gonorrhea, syphilis,
trichomoniasis and chlamydia

no, are those available here? My mum
said she had something similar in the
seventies and that it was the absolute
greatest thing ever.
