Too Soon?
Posted: 11-07-06 11:47am

My last period was a little over two and a half weeks ago. I should have ovulated a day or two ago. My husband and I had sex about 5 days ago, and since then I have not been able to shake the feeling that I am pregnant. Lately, i've been feeling like crap. I have headaches and back aches a lot, I am hungry all the time, although I have a low-grade nausea all the time as well. To me it seems waaay to soon to be experiencing these symptoms, but i'm no doctor or anything. Is it possible, or is it really to early for me to be going through this stuff?

Yes, it is too early.

The earliest you can experience real pregnancy symptoms is implantation.
This occurs typically betwen 6 and 10 days post ovulation (ie about 4 days before your period would be due).

Until implantation there is no production of the pregnancy hormone hcg and with out that you can not have pregnancy symptoms.

Typical pregnancy symptoms last for the first 12 weeks due to the fact your body is producing the hcg hormones required, by 12 weeks the placenta is fully formed and it takes over the production of hormones and so you typically begin to feel better at this point.
