Light pink spotting: forgot to take last 3 birth control pil Posted: 11-07-06 20:59pm
Is it possible to get pregnant? I have
been on the pill for years now always the
same one estrostep. I didn't get my period
in september then it came twice or what i
think it was my period on oct 3rd and
oct24th and after it was done i had one
day of light pinkish bleeding. Right after
my period ended i forgot to take 2 of the
last pills of the package and when i
remembered i took 3 and the last one for
the month. I'm just very confused about
all this. thanks

When dealing with oral contraception, it
is not a problem to forget to take the
last 7 pills in a package that contains 28
pills. The last 7 pills in the packages
(that contain 28 pills) are inactive and
do not contain hormones. Normally, you
should get your period while taking the
last 7 inactive pills. You can go to a
gynecologist to check if this irregular
spotting is a side effect of the
contraceptive pills or if the spotting
indicates another condition. It doesn’t
seem likely that you are pregnant, but you
can take a home pregnancy test to be
sure.
