Ortho Tri-cyclen After Sex Posted: 11-10-06 21:15pm
Hi there, just a curious (but concerned
guy) who needs some answers. My gf and
I were having sex on a saturday, and she
had been on top for a while. As I
lifted her off me I could feel the condom
slipping off me, so by the time I came out
it was still inside her. I had not
cummed yet, I was going to get us in a
different position. I use the trojan
with the spermicide. We stopped since
she got a little scared. I told her we
should probably look into birth control so
we can have that added security. So she
went to planned parenthood on tuesday (3
days after) and she got on ortho
tri-cyclen.
So she was supposed to have her period
yesterday, but she never did. She said
last night she was cramping, and she says
she usually starts the morning after that
happens (which would be today), but she
hasn't. She's also experiencing some
mild headaches and stomach aches, and
slight gag feeling in the back of her
throat.
I was wondering how possible it would be
if she was pregnant, and if its too early
to worry about it yet. I just need
answers and/or suggestions. Thanks!

The fact that you used a condom, it had
spermicide, and you had not ejaculated,
make the odds of her being pregnant very
very slim.
Thumbs up for using protection. Good
luck!

Pregnancy is unlikely as she was likely
post ovulation by many days.
Pregnancy is also unlikely as you were
using a spermicidal condom (props to
you).
Hoever to start a birth control pill so
near to the end of her cycle could well
mess her cycles up.
You guys would have been better to get a
"morning after pill" (can be taken upto 72
hours post coital but the earlier the
better) and then starting on birth control
as soon as her next cycle began.
Don't stop taking the b/c pill now that
she has started on them, but her cycles
could be a bit messed up for a couple
months as her body comes in line with the
b/c.
Do keep using spermicidal condoms even
though she is on the pill as both condoms
and the pill are 98-99% effective when
used 100% correctly. So using two
different types of b/c is a great idea.
You guys sound like you have the right
idea so keep it up.
The pill may make her skip the period she
would be starting so taking a test is not
a bad idea.
The pill will not affect the result of a
test and taking the pill will not harm a
pregnancy that has occurred.
She would do well to talk this through
with an advisor at your local family
planning clinic.
