Hey Remember Me???

Hey everyone,im back....Im 31 weeks
pregnant and 2days,yay.Thing is my waters
have already broken a month ago and ive
lost what the hospital described to me as
"the show" just a couple of days ago.I
went to hospital late the other night by
ambulance because I was
contracting,apparently though I have a
water infection which can start off early
labour.Anyway they said they will give me
a scan on the 15th of november and then
one a week later because they say the baby
looks a little on the small
side....Basically I want to know what will
happen if she hasnt grown within that
week? What will they do about it? They
have given me two lots of steroid
injections in my bum, which will make her
lungs more developed incase she does come
early. What if shes really tiny? And what
weight should she be at 31weeks?Would it
be very dangerous if she was born
soon????Thanksxxxx

umm my doctor told me if the water breaks,
they need to get the baby out within 24
hours because of risk of infection.
You already had one, and I am not
understanding why they didnt get they baby
out by now. That can be dangerous.
Babies at 31 weeks have a very good change
of surivival with the technology we have
nowadays.

Actually no, my mum and all my aunties had
what they call "dry births",yes its a
little more risky when the waters break
but they would rather keep the baby in
there for as long as possible especialy
like I said they dont think my little girl
is growing very quickly.I already have a
weter infection, probably due to my waters
breaking but im on strong anti-biotics and
they told me that theres no way that this
water infection can cause her any harm at
all.All I want to know is what they will
do if they see she isnt growing?I didnt
ask anything about my waters breaking,i
already know all about that.Thanksxxxx

Oh okay smarty pants, you already know all
about that, excuse me!!
If you are so concerned about your childs
size why didnt you ask the doctor these
questions.

Not to insult you or anything but I feel
like you've missed something important or
misunderstood something. If your water
broke there is no way they would've left
the baby in there, they usually take it
out within 24 hours. Maybe your water is
just leaking?

I know she said her water broke, but maybe
she has a small leak???
Either way, you would think they would be
monitoring you in the hospital. The risk
of infection would be high considering
you're only 31 weeks and you still have
many weeks to go.
Get a second opinion!!! Please!!!!!

Your amniotic sac can heal if you have a
leak. This can be perfectly fine.
Breaking and the giant woosh of water that
follows is not fine. But I suspect you
didn't have that, or you'd be in the
hospital with antibiotic drip, etc.
Your mucous plug can grow back. Since you
aren't due for 9 weeks, you don't want to
give birth any time soon. Even with the
steriod shots, there is a major risk to
your child's lung development and loss of
oxygen to the brain (which can cause
irrepairable brain damage).
Your leak must have stopped by now. And
do you mean your amniotic fluid is
infected? Or you have a bladder
infection? A bladder infection can cause
contractions as well. But if your water
actually did break, you would need to be
in the hospital. Try to argue that point
is fine, but we all know if your water
breaks they don't send you home for a few
weeks. They deliver you within 24
hours.
I'd be concerned if your baby wasn't
growing. That might be problematic. But
if the baby is healthy otherwise, i'm sure
they'd let you continue with your
pregnancy. That baby is safer inside you
that outside you at this point.

I thought she miscarried her twins.
Something about pushing them out into a
toilet I thought? I don't know.

Ok - I searched the word twins
and then looked through her last pregnancy
posts - for which the weeks do add up.

Hun now im not trying to bash you or say
the wrong things, but I had 3 premature
births out of the 6 and when my water even
started to leak they kept me in the
hospital, and when my water broke they
held me out a little over 48 hrs and I
started to run a fever and they thought
that I was getting an infection and they
put me on strong doses of amoxicillin and
etc. Then they took my baby right away
and I was only 28 wks preggo at this
point. They where scared that the baby
would get it. So I dont know what type of
doctors you have but I suggest that you
get a second opinion for the sake of you
and your baby.

Yeah I was remembering her story back in
april she pushed one out then the other
one. Were you pregnant with triplets or
did you get pregnant right away????
