Pain during Sex, even with Lubricants... Posted: 11-13-06 08:21am
I haven't had intercourse in 15 years and
am in menopause. I visit the gynocologist
and am physically fine..but, would my non
sexual activity cause great pain upon
having intercourse again after all this
time.? Its as though I'm a "virgin" I have
used a lubricant however its still very
painful, almost as if the penis would not
even fit. I have used Replense but not for
very long. Would continued of such a
product make it easier? thanks

Painful sexual intercourse can be due to
various physical and mental reasons.
During menopause, the vagina loses its
elasticity and sexual intercourse becomes
more painful than it used to be.
Lubricants might help here. Penis size is
also important when discussing sexual
intercourse. If the penis is too large and
thick and the vagina has decreased in
elasticity, intercourse can be painful.
Emotional stress due to 15 years of sexual
abstinence and menopause can be the third
reason for dyspareunia. Lubricants and
pre-sexual foreplay may help you.
