Q: What Is Happening??

I can't believe I am going through the "severe anxiety" phase again. I just took the pregnancy test four times in the last three days (yes obsessive), and the last three times I had a light line. I am not due for my period for at least a few more days. Unfortunetly, I don't know the exact date as I have always been bad at keeping track and remembering. Anyways, if I am correct on the approximate date, that means the first pregnancy test came up at least five days before my period. Why so soon??

I lost tooo much weight after my first one (now three) and as of a few weeks ago, I weighed only 98 pounds and was normally 115 (before babe). All tests ruled out hyperthyroid and other medical conditions that would cause me to be too thin. Now, I have this positive pregnancy test along with a stomach that looks like I am already six weeks pregnant. I have probably gained 7 pounds in the past week - at least my pants feel like it. I don't care about the weight gain, especially if I am pregnant. The baby needs the fat and so do i. So, does my belly look so big because I am so thin or could there be something else wrong? I wouldn't think I could look this big if my pregnancy test just showed up positive before my expected period. If this is considered "being bloated" then I am bloated to the extreme.

I am just wondering if anyone else's belly looked so big after a week? My little brain is analyzing the possibilities. I am going for my "official" blood test tomorrow which will confirm the pregnancy and test my hcg levels to make sure they are just right. In the mean time, I will continue to discretely leave my pants button undone on pants that were falling off of me about two weeks ago!! My boobs don't hurt this time around which is all the more strange. I guess every pregnancy is different. I am trying not to get too excited until the 12th week.

You could just be bloated, or maybe farther along than you're calculating?

Sounds like bloating. If you are suspecting twins, you can rule out early showing (within the first few weeks) as an indicator of twins. The fetus is the size of a grain of rice. So even if there were 2, their total size wouldn't even push the uterus over the pubic bone yet.

Bloating will cause you to look fatter in your tummy area. As far as the weight gain, you could be eating more, retaining more water - various things could be going on.

Thanks
Well, I guess I am just "tripping out" for lack of better words. I will just go with the "bloating, eating more, retaining water" messages for now unless the doctor has other concerns, which I doubt. Oh, the miscalculation is a big possibility as well. I honestly don't even remember when I had my period. It was a strange one that was heavy for two days and suddenly stopped. I had recently stopped taking the pill during that time so my periods were all messed up from that.

Thanks for also letting me know about the "rule out twins" factor. I figured that it was way too early to tell but my mom had twins (lost one) before having me, so that was in the back of my mind.

I just need to focus on being healthy these next few months and not stress or overanalyze!!! How do you not overanalyze over ever little thing? What a terrible fault of mine.

Thanks for replying.

Girl, you're talking to the queen or overanalyzing &stressing out. I have severe anxiety disorder, &to make matters worse, right before this pregnancy (.I'm talking about 2 weeks), .I had a miscarriage! It's not small feat to be calm &collected. But what helps me is just telling myself that whatever happens is supposed to happen, &.I just need to worry about eating better &doing what's best for my son in my belly! &.Chances are, once you see the doctor &get a little farther along, you'll relax a whole lot. Smile
