Hi everyone!
I have been reading these forums for
awhile and finally got enough courage to
post since you all seem like really great
people. I am 16 (i will be 17 on february
2nd) and I am in grade 12, and have just
applied to college and university. I dont
think i'll be going to university ( well
more like I dont think ill get in! Lol)
but I want to be a dental hygienist and
hopefully I will be accepted into the 2
year program at college. Anyways I have
been with my boyfriend for over 2 years
and i'm trying to get pregnant. I know
many people will caution me against that
but I have my family's support (my mom
wants me to have a baby!) and his support
and his family's support as well. I plan
on getting a job soon and if I do get
pregnant before college I will go part
time until I can get my degree. Nice to
meet you all
~alex

It's nice to meet you! You know so many
young girls come here and say that they
are trying to get pregnant and I always
have something to say! But you seem very
level headed and I hope things work out
for you! Congrats and good luck in
school!

Hi there.. . Im sorry. . I cannot
congratulate u at all on trying to get
pregnant.. With or without your familys
support. U are 16 yrs old! Almost 17..
But still! Im sorry to sound rude, I do
not know you, u do sound level headed for
the most part I agree, but I dont agree
with people trying to get pregnant before
they are out of highschool. .Whats the
rush? Your not even 18 yet.. Not
considered an adult even for a while. .
I guess I just dont understand these
things at all. . People this young and
even my age, trying to get pregnant.. I
think its going to be so hard and im 18!
I mean ur w/ ur boyfriend for 2 years,
thats great, but if u plan on staying with
him, y do u need to have a baby this soon?
It would help with some explaining.... U
might hate me now.. But I would say this
to anyone trying to get pregnant this
young...

No I don't hate you at all I totally
understand your response. I do plan on
being with my boyfriend for a long time,
and we both would love a child. I will be
out of highschool within a few months so
would that make a difference to you
whether I tried then or now? I do plan on
going to college, whether I have to put it
off for awhile or not. I would not have
to worry about daycare because my parents
or my boyfriend's parents would gladly
watch the child while i'm at school.
About finances, I have money saved up and
I can work at my father's company at
anytime and my bf currently has a job as
well and is going to university to become
a teacher (he has an over 85% average).
While people hold many stereotypes about
16,17, 18 etc girls having children I feel
I am stable enough as well as emotionally
prepared to take on the responsibility of
a child. It's nice to meet you and good
luck with your pregnancy

Hello alexandra it's nice to meet you.
Personally if you think your ready for
this and have explored all options then I
dont see why you shouldn't go ahead with
it! I'm trying to get preggo so wish you
lots of luck in the baby making
department!

Alexandra-
I know where you are coming from. I
was 18 when I got pregnant and I had been
off of birth control for 6 months before I
did. My bf and I knew that I could get
pregnant and I had always wanted a baby so
whenever we had unprotected sex we were
just like, well whatever happens happens.
Well I gave birth to our daughter in
august of 2003.
I have to say, it is not as hard as ppl
make it out to be. But then again if I
didn't have jaydens father here with me I
don't know what I would do. He has given
me the luxury of not having to work and
being able to stay home with jayden. And
he just turned 19 in october. He workes
his a** off 7 days a week and its hard on
him. I mean I do wish you luck, but
please look at it this way. You may say
you love him and maybe you do, but your
young this is probably your first serious
relationship as was it mine too. And now
my bf and I don't get along as well as we
did before we had my daughter. And we
were the perfect happiest couple before.
There is just alot of stress that comes
along with the package and even if you
love each other the stress can get the
best of both of you and make things real
hard to work out. But good luck and if
you ever need someone to talk to i'm here.

Alex,
im in the same way but there are some
conflicts in my life .. Like my boyfriend
still in school when I graduate.. But hes
5or 6 month older than me. I know.. I
agree with you.. But I do agree with some
of the responses... I talked about this
before but I do not have any support in my
family but alot of support in my boyfriend
side of the family. Its hard but its
life. I wish you the best... And beside
I hate being deaf.. But im proud of it.
