Ok I mentioned that I had gained a lot of weight in the past.. Anyhow my norm weigh is 145 pds. Now I am 190 pounds.. I am only 28 weeks. The doctor did tests and found nothing.. Now im really nervous I dont eat much. My doctor told me to go on a good calorie diet. Bout 1600 calories a day. Making sure that is its with fruit veggies and healthy lean meat.. Ironically im not a big junky.. I hate chocolate, and ice cream.. I love ooked carrots and green beans and chicken cutletts. I just dont get where the weight is coming from.. I know I was kinda tiny to start off with I mean I was 5'8 at 145. Has anyone had this problem.. Is this something I should really worry about???

as far as whether you should worry about it or not, only your doctor can answer that.

But if it makes you feel any better, I had gained 23lbs at 19 weeks. (i haven't weight myself recently, but I know i've gained lots since too). I also don't like chocolate or ice cream (you're the first person i've ever met who is like me!!) and I love veggies.

Do you eat white bread, pasta, rice, etc? If so, you might want to switch to whole grains. They have lots more nutrients and it's helped me to maintain my weight in the past.

I know that the reason i'm gaining alot is because I just don't have the energy to exercise like I used to.

Try not to let it get you down. Go shopping and splurge on some sexy mat clothes to flatter your new body.

I gained a crap load of weight I honestly don't have any advice, my diet wasn't bad at all. It just seemed like everytime I even looked at food I gained a pound. I had a large baby though, so maybe that was why. After I delivered him I was immediately 20 lbs. Lighter. The placenta weighed as much as he did about!

the amount of weight gain with a pregnancy is about 20 lbs with baby and placenta and amniotic fluid. What you gain on top of that is what your body is gaining.

That said, please do not be ashamed for any weight you are gaining. It will be hard to lose (even 'baby weight' is hard to lose) - but some women's bodies (like mine!) just tend to gain weight when they are pregnant. It isn't the end of the world. Just eat healthy and worry about losing weight after you have a healthy happy baby!!

i weighed myself when I got home from the hospital just so I could feel good about "instantly" losing 20 pounds and I was only down about 8 from when I went into the hospital. My baby weighed 8.5 and I still don't understand why I wasn't down more. Crying or Very sad

water retention. I'll bet you sweat a lot after getting home from the hospital, huh? Your body holds onto a lot of water in that odd time after delivery.

I didn't sweat a lot but my feet and ankles were so swollen, they've gone down now. I haven't weighed myself since that first time because it just upset me to see that all i'd lost was the weight of my baby. I guess i'll weigh myself in the morning and see if it's gone down more.

Now if only I had some pants that fit!

I know several people that gained 70, 80 lbs. Its not that big of a deal really, unless youre obese to start with.

this sounds silly since you are retaining water - but drink .M.O.R.E water. It will flush your system and get out the excess water. I don't know why it works, it just does. Oh, and limit your salt intake.

I am 38 weeks and I have gained 50 pounds. My doctor said that it's ok. He said that they don't stress over weight gain unless it's an obscene amount (like 80 ) or you are obese to begin with Smile don't stress
