Alcohol And Pregnancy

I am not pregnant again *yet* (positive thinking lol) but I was just wondering about your views on alcohol and pregnancy

when I was carrying aydan I did drink not stupidly or anything but I did have the odd glass of wine. With lucas I didnt drink at all.

Its just I read in an article today that said doctors should start telling patients to avoid alcohol all together where prevoiusly they were told that 2 units over a period of 1-2 weeks was fine (although this might just be .U.K). Apparently there are now reports that women who have drunk extremely moderate amounts of alcohol while pregnant have had babies born with .F.A.S (foetal alcohol syndrome). Experts have now ran tests which show that babies 'jump' in the womb from the mother drinking just one glass of wine.
Just wanted to know everyone elses views on it Smile

I haven't had any alcohol while pregnant, but I wasn't a drinker beforehand either. I don't like the taste of alcohol.

I drank about half a glass of fizzy wine on my wedding day -yes I was pregnant on my wedding day Embarassed - and I think I did the same at .Christmas but that was it. It was just for the taste really and not to feel any effects - the way I saw it, if I was feeling the effects of the alcohol then my baby was too.

For any future pregnancies though, I won't drink alcohol at all because I know more about the risks now.

I didn't drink at all during my pregnancy. But then again, I only drink socially anyway. So it wasn't a huge thing to "give up".

I'm breastfeeding now, so .I'm not drinking now either. I'm sure it's fine to drink a bit and not have it affect your milk, but I would really rather not take any chances when it comes to my daughter. I haven't had a drink since before I got pregnant.
