Hi. I am a 17 year old female. I am
losing a lot of hair, ever since june. I
lose a lot of hair whenever I wash my hair
or brush it, and even when i'm not
touching it. I don't eat much meat but I
eat a lot of nuts. I have tried hair
strengthening shampoos but they don't
work. This is truly a problem for even my
family has noticed. What is wrong?

Some people who lose hair might be have an
allergy to their shampoos. Try getting
one that is Sodium Laureth/Lauryl sulfate
free. I have a cousin who had this
problem and switched to Jason's products
and the problem solved itself. I hope it
is as simple enough an answer for you too.

A friend I know experienced hair loss as
the result of taking hormone pills for
acne. Do you take contraceptives or use
hormone pills? This could be the cause of
the hair loss.

FYI, Selenium which is used in nutritional
supplements and some hair shampoos can
cause this. FDA just posted a warning
about the nutritional supplement March
27th, 2008. Overdose of this substance
causes rapid hair loss along with a host
of other problems.
