Very Faint Positive Test? Help Me Please... Posted: 11-18-06 21:30pm
Hello
i am new here and have a few questions I
hope someone can help me with...
My husband and I having been trying to get
pregnant for 7 years (i'm now 29) I have
very mild pcos and my husband is near
sterile (exceptionally low count and
motility, not even enough for ivf) we have
had 4 cycles of icsi and next week we are
about to try for our 5th (and final) icsi.
But....
I'm 5 days away from af and I have heavy
breasts, keep fainting, feel sick (but am
not actually sick) and I just have this
'feeling' that i'm pregnant, i've had
feelings like i'm pregnant before (don't
we all when we wish for it so damn hard)
but this time I feel so sure, anyway I
bought a pregnancy test (to put myself out
of my misery) i've just done it (20 mins
ago) and it came up straight away with a
(very very) faint positive pink line in
the second box (which according to the box
means i'm pregnant!!!) it's an early
detector test and as I said i'm still 5
days before my period so that could
explain the very faint line? I don't
think it's a evaporation line as it is
slightly coloured pink.
I will obviously test again in a few days
but this is killing me, those few days
until my af (or hopefully my lack of af)
will seem like years - I think I may go
crazy with anquish. I'm too scared to
tell my husband in case the test is wrong
(it would break his heart in two) I am so
confused; half elated/half worried sick.
How on earth can I be pregnant when my
husband has such a low count? (no I
haven't played away from home!!!)
does a (very) faint pink line mean i'm
pregnant? I'm sure it does, I don't
know whether to laugh or cry? I want a
baby more than life itself, my heart aches
daily for a child. Having a baby is never
far from my mind for more than a few
hours. Can miracles really happen?
Please can anyone tell me if this is
possible? And does anyone know if a faint
line is still a positive? So sorry for
these questions but as I said - i'm half
crazy with confusion.
Thank you so very much for your time.
Emma

Emma - congratualtions girl........Yes,
even a "faint" pink line in the result
window indicates a positive pregnancy
test!!!!!
It is probably faint b/c of the fact that
you are still 5 days away from your af
arriving. The further you are along, the
levels of the hcg hormone increase, and
would show a darker line, as this is what
the test is picking up on.
Even though your husband has a low sperm
count, remember, it only takes one sperm
to fertilize your egg, so if it did it's
job and swam all the way there, then
that's all it needs!
Your symptoms definatley sound like
pregnancy symptoms - although some women
do not have any symptoms like this until
they are further along, but we are all
different!
Take a deep breath, enjoy the moment - and
if you want to wait, you can take another
test in a couple of days (try buying a
different brand even, and one that has a
higher sensitivity to the hcg hormone) and
if that one also shows even a faint line
in the result window, you have your answer
and your blessing - finally!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish you all the best of luck and will
cross my fingers for you that you have a
little one in your tummy
keep us posted on your test(s)!!!!!!!!
My g/f took a test and it showed a very
faint line in the window. I took her and
we bought another test, and again, a faint
line appeared.......She is due
jan.31'07!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck!!

Congrats! Even a faint line means its
positive, evaporation lines takes about 10
mins to show up. You can take another
test in a few days just to be sure, but
while you are waiting to take the test
again you must behave like you are
pregnant, no drinking or smoking and start
taking over the counter prenatal vitamins.

Congratulations!!!!!!!
Like everyone has said above yes, a faint
line is a positive, my friend was the same
she tested 6 days before her due date of
her period and got afaint line, she tested
3 days later and it was darker. Shes now
7 months pregnant.
I wish you all the best, and keep us all
informed what the outcome of the test is
in afew days time!
(i would be glad of any faint line!!!)
oh and darn those "i feel pregnant"
feelings I hate them

A faint positive is still definitely a
positive. Congrats! Wait a few day and
use a first response. They are supposed
to be one of the most accurate. It does
only take one sperm, so just be happy
about it.
