I don't mind if it comes on my birthday it won't be too great for them thoguh but I don't think my nephew would be too pleased with me if it was born on his birthday

Awwwh congrats! Two little girls! How sweet.

Danni, be careful with your "feelings" ... I had a feeling .I was having a girl, &.I'm having a boy! Hahaha! Couldn't be happier, though. Wink .I can't wait to find out what you're having!

Twins
Posted: 11-19-06 20:53pm

Hey congrats!! Sisters!!

Did they tell you they were identical twins? Just wondering, because there's no way of knowing for sure except for dna testing after birth.
If they were only saying that because the girls are sharing a placenta or sac, then I wouldn't be taking it as confirmation they are identical twins

but still-who cares if there are identical or not anyway?- twins!! Yay!!!!

When I was pregnant with twins they told me they could not tell me for sure if they were identical or not that I had to wait for them to be born. Which they are still waiting on the test to come back but I already know they are not identical

wait what? Why did they need tests done?
Im pretty sure they can easily tell if they are identical or not if they are sharing the same placenta. Fraternal twins are two different eggs with two different placentas. Its not that hard to figure out lol.

It Depends
Posted: 11-19-06 21:51pm

It just depends on at what point the embryo split- before implantation or after- identical twins can have seperate sacs, seperate placentas seperate whole deals (!!)

simularly, fraternal twins can end up sharing a placenta or a sac, depending on implantation location etc.
Two placentas can join together to look like one, yadda yadda.

The only way to tell 100% whether they are actually genetically identical is by dna tests after birth. Even if they look identical.

It's not hugely important-twins is exciting either way- I was just wondering what they were basing the "identical" theory on.

Just nosey!!

Ive actually been thinking how can my doc tell they are identical jus from a scan... I'm not gonna get to excited but i'm still happy if there not.. I think for me indeitical twins wud be harder for me to look after.
