Q: Is This a Normal Weight

I just recently had an ultrasound at 19 weeks and was told my little boy weighed .6lbs, I was just wondering if anyone knew if this was a normal weight for a baby at that stage. I couldnt ask the girl doing my ultrasound becuase she wouldnt talk at all. And when I told my mom the weight she looked shocked. Ive looked online for the normal weight at that stage and its all in ounces and I dont know how to convert pounds to ounces.

Hmmm, I think somebody has the weights mixed up, my 2nd child was born at 38 weeks and was 6lb 7oz at birth! There is no way your baby can be that big already..The average size for a newborn is 7lb 6oz.

There are 16oz to a lb!

Also are you sure she didn't say that she thinks he will weigh about 6lbs when he's out because 6 lbs at 19 weeks would mean that you are having a 13-15lb baby at full term

I had the same concern when I was pregnant. Below is a link that gives the .A.V.E.R.A.G.E. Fetal weight for gestational age.
