Yep kia lol
sandra I said he 'eats small amounts' cos
I put it on my nipples before and after
breastfeeding so they dont get sore! It
really helps, they got cracked and bled
for the first 2 days of breastfeeding, the
midwife was shocked I was still trying to
feed him and gave me some vaseline. No
problems since

i confess - I did wonder how lol
but yeah I used to suck my lip balm off
all the time (didn't even realise) and
then someone told me it was basically
flavoured vaseline haha I still do
end up doing it when I use lip balm lol

lmao! Well everyone should try it if
breastfeeding hurts...I dunno how anyone
can not use that or some kind of special
nipple cream, because they get wet when
the baby's feeding, then dry out
afterwards, then wet again...Dry etc etc
and ...Well yeh that makes them sore and
the skin cracks/bleeds -ouch!! I couldn't
do it without putting something on them.
Lip blam does taste good especially the
strawberry one

Yeah, whover said .U.T.I's are nothing to
mess with, they were right. Adriana is
just getting over one. I myself have
never had one, so I don't know what kind
of pain she was in, but .I hope to .God
she never has to go through that again.
They had to put a catheter in to get a
urine sample from her. I have to bring
her back in once her antibiotic is gone
and they have to take another urine
sample, but I refuse to let them do that
again. I took the day off from work that
she has her appointment and i'll wait
around as long as I have to, to get it
another way. She's not going through that
again, it was so cruel. She's only 8
months old. So be very very careful about
puting vaseline on your baby girl. That's
not why .Adriana got a .U.T.I, but .I'm
just letting you know how incredibly easy
it is for a baby girl in diapers to get
one. I'd call around even and get more
opinions.

.Y.E.S,
very very important to do that, and make
sure you put some in her ears and nostrils
too, don't want those closing up.
I have two girls, neither is on the
waiting list for "vagina re-opening"
surgery due to my shameful negligant
"clean it and leave it alone" practices.

I asked some people in my family and my
neice's one started to close and she had
to have it reopened with surgery. The
doctor told my sister-in-law that it can
close, but never told her to do anything
to prevent it.
I'm calling tomorrow to find out more
info. We were busy today. My husband
is sick.

I would follow the doctor's request. My 7
month old grand daughter now has this
problem. They say it's very common
condition that accurs from bubble baths.
The condition is called (vaginal
synechiae,labial adhesions). See the below
article.
"Doctor, my baby's vagina has closed up!"
No, the labia minora are just stuck
together (labial adhesions). This happens
because 1) the female infant and toddler
has very low levels of female hormones
that keep the tissue non-sticky 2) parents
forget to gently spread the vaginal lips
properly during baths (all you really need
to do is just part them for a second).
Once the vaginal opening is stuck
together, nothing bad happens*. If you did
nothing about it, in a few years the
opening would open back up without any
problem.
If you really are nervous about it, your
doctor could prescribe some Premarin®
hormone cream to put on the area to soften
up the tissue and open the orifice. The
pediatric endocrinologists I have talked
to about it don't think that's necessary
or particularly advisable, but opinions
differ. A one week course of treatment
with the topical estrogen cream is said to
be effective in 9 out of 10 cases in my
textbook, but my experience has never been
that good. In any event, once the labia
are separated again, particular attention
should be payed to hygeine (soaking
cross-legged in the tub in clear water is
always a good idea) and some petroleum
jelly or zinc oxide should be smeared on
the area where the adhesions occurred for
a couple of months. This will help prevent
reappearance of the adhesions.
Hope this helps
