.. Actually... Not yay at all. Did you know like 75% of us pregnant women get gingivitis because of our increased blood flow? I just had a visit with the dentist and I have severe gingivitis and it started a month ago. Its so annoying that my gums bleed when I eat a banana! They told me that it will get better (due to techniques they showed me) but won't clear up until after the baby is born & nursing is over.
...Just thought id let you girls know because I had no idea that my mouth problem related to pregnancy! Go to the dentist! Go!

I had bleeding gums the last month of my pregnancy, it was only when I brushed my teeth though. The day after I gave birth I noticed it didn't happen anymore.

*~*yay!*~* bleeding gums!!!!!

I had those too when I was prego.. But just like .Bridget, it was only when I brushed and went away after she was born.. Its just because you have extra blood in ur body... And its closer to the surface.

I am just curious what suggestions the dentist gave you to help with it.

I have always had very healthy teeth and gums. I brush two or more times a day and use that crest pro-health toothpaste and mouthwash, which is awesome by the way. It doesn't help with the bleeding though.

I am not scheduled to go back to have a cleaning until january.

The dentist gave me a really thorough cleaning, and teached me different brushing strategies and my gums stopped bleeding =)

my dentist said he was really happy that I came in right away to get this taken care of! Gingivitis is really bad for you. If you can, maybe you should bump up your appointment
