Problems With Birth Control
Posted: 11-25-06 02:46am

I just started taking birth control (desogen) for the first time ever about a month and half ago. The first month was hell, I talked to my doctor and they pretty much told me to try a few more months since its the first time i've ever taken bc and if it's still bad I should switch, something like that.
Well i've taken it for another half month and it's hell, i've literally gone crazy, there is no way I can suck it up and keep taking it.
Basically my question is if I just stop taking it now (mid month) and just start up later with another pill, will I have the same effects? Will it be like completely starting over again, side effect wise?
Thanks!!!

You should wait until the end of this cycle to stop taking the pills. Stopping mid-cycle will cause your body to get off track hormonally and your period may be late/early which will cause all sorts of worries about pregnancy/other problems.

Some women do experience symptoms that disappear within a few months of taking hormonal birth control. But if you feel this is not right for you, then find another option (there are plenty) that is more comfortable for you.

Good luck

I really don't know if I can make through the month though, it's making me literally crazy and I have finals coming up and I just don't want to risk. I went through all my midterms while I was crazy from bc and did really bad. It even made my period worse!!! My biggest concern is symptoms not a late period. So how would stopping now affect my symptoms?
