Q: Anyone Else Work Long Hours??

Does anyone else work 40 hours a week at a completely stress-ridden job, while pregnant and have another child? Hey, if you don't have another child but are pregnant and work outside of home, please let me know. If you fit into these categories, are you dealing well? My job is very stressful and was taking a toll on me emotionally and physically before pregnancy. Now that I am pregnant, it is worse. Please give me some tips.

Also, I am seeing my obstetrician (sp?) in one or two weeks for the first time (7 weeks preg right now). My work won't let me go to part-time without a medical note as I am on a one year contract.

Are obstetricians usually nice about writing notes to employment since increased stress can negatively impact fetal development??? Anyone have good tips on how to request a note from a doctor? I am thinking I have enough info to qualify me to be in the moderate to high risk pregnancy range anyways. I can't gain weight for the life of me and doctors have been trying for over a year to figure out why (approximately 97 pounds and 5'5). My major anxiety doesn't help the weight loss either. I sometimes almost faint at work because I forget to drink water...That's how busy my job is...I forget.

I would rather have the doctor say I can't work at all during this pregnancy but I would think it would be almost impossible to get a doctor's note stating I can't work. At least that is my belief - I hope I am wrong. Help me gain some sanity, please!!

Advice, words of wisdom, comments????????

I worked 40 hours a week while pregnant and i'm doing it now that the baby is here. It was really really hard when I was pregnant, the only thing that got me through it was knowing that I didn't have any alternative. I wish I had some tips for you but I don't. I wish that I had been able to not work, if I ever have another one I won't work. It's too crazy. All I can say is rest whenever you can and leave work at work. When you feel like walking out just remember the way the bills add up from diapers, clothes, bottles, baby furniture, etc...
