Trailers, Tracers, After Images....help Please Posted: 11-29-06 06:18am
Hi guys...Ok...Bit of background
first...
A few months back I started getting pins
and needles very easliy when lying in
bed.... This continued until one day I
got a numb toe... Hmmm....
A few weeks later my fingers start feeling
wierd. I seemed to have bad
circulation...Also noticed a regualar
irregular heartbeat.... These symptoms
seem to be subsiding (fingers crossed) now
I am exercising reguarly.
But then about a few weeks ago I started
noticing that my eyes kept the image of
light in them really easily. Hard to
explain,,, yo uknow when you get a photo
taken and the flash stays there... Well
this happens with things that arent
particuarly bright, say a traffic
signal...
Now im experiencing almost constant
trailers.... And im seeing very small
dots of colour in my vision when its dark,
kinda got a very faint red line accross my
vision in the morning....
Im scared......
Been to the doctor, (im in a doing it
foreign country, but luckily have
translator) he says nothing wrong with
heart... Goign again tommorrow...But now
I need an eye doc and ill def sort that
out then....
Help!

Most of those could be symtoms of anxeity.
Excuse the mispelling, and the eye
thing, I have that too. Like when it's
dark in my house, when I walk by something
there's this white trailer after it.
I've had it about a year last month, and
i've been to the eye dr, everythings fine.
I also get alot of floaters. Like when
I look into the sky. What do you
see?>

I have had very similar symptoms which
started about five years ago. I remember
the fact that I would get pins and needles
in my feet/hands as I lay in bed, I think
that it was made worse with alcohol.
I also have the trailers, afterimages etc.
I also later got tinnitus (3 years
ago).
The good news is that it wasn't a terrible
neurological disease - so far anyway
thank god! The bad news is that it
hasn't gone away and I think that it is
getting a little worse - although I am not
sure and I can still function perfectly.
I read quite a bit for work and, while it
is annoying, it is not a problem. I
think it could be made worse by stress, as
I am stressed work-wise at the moment.
The pins and needles passed...
I had all the tests by the way (mri, ver
etc) nothing came back from those.
Best of luck, get yourself checked out but
don't worry too much about it.

Well, 10 days on from my last post. My
eyes are getting worse...
I have been to an eye doc. He says
nothing wrong with my eyes, bugger. Wish
there was a problem so he could sort it.
Ive been to about 5 doctors... One says I
could have a nerve imbalance. Getting
that checked soon hopefully....
But my eyes are the thing that are
worrying me..... Im up and down like a
yoyo at the moment. Worrried out of my
mind one minute and then kinda ok the
next. I know this doesnt help matter at
all, but if my eyes got a bit better I
could work on feeling good
im getting much more sensitivity to light
now. Getting shadows in my vision. Like
reading, then moving my eyes, I can see
the lines on the page that I was looking
at before.
At night im getting glare from lights and
halos around them too. I tell you its
doing it nasty. It feels like my body is
eroding. So in a couple of days im going
to a nerve doc. He better do something
other than just point me another direction
my tingling fingers have gone. Still
getting pins n needles, but I think less
bad. Also my numb toe is getting
sensitivity back....Very slowly.

I can see all sorts... White swirly bits,
thats white blood cells apparently.
Lights, floaters. You name it, I got
it.
Ive also got other symptoms too, ive just
had a million vials of blood taken at the
hospital, going for an mri tomorrow.
I think I may have toxic or nutritional
autonomic nerve imbalance. Well theres
definatly summit up with me nerves, slowly
progressing and getting worse and worse.
Ill be blind by new years probably. I'll
use this as my update thingy.
Sweet huh
keep your fingers crossed for me

I would have my thyroid checked.
Numbness is one of the symptoms of an
underactive and overactive thyroid.
Also, I would have an mri to rule out ms,
these symptoms of yours can be the
symptoms of many different illnesses.
Keep digging. It is your body and I
wouldn't rest until I get an answer. Good
luck.

Thanks for the support guys...
Ive had an mri. Getting the results as
well as about 7 blood tests on monday...I
ll put em on here.
It just feels like eroding at the moment.
Ive started a health regime and trying to
remain positive.
Say a prayer or throw a coin in the
wishing well for me yea?
:d
Hi! I've got it, too. I hope to hear from
other folks out their...I'm on a desperate
hunt to end this. There HAS to be an
answer. I'm now at my wits end, and have
started mailing every Dr. that has written
a paper, or even mentions the word
palinopsia or persistence of vision. If
there are others out there...let's band
together and become a force to be reckoned
with. I'm on the search for a Dr. that's
willing to take this on...If I find one,
I'll let them know there might be more of
us coming.
Persistent palinopsia started for me
suddenly last November when I started
seeing trails behind moving objects. To
see what I see, set your mouse settings to
"display pointer trails.: I see it always.
Nothing seems to make it better or worse.
It made me a bit queasy at first. Now it
is my constant companion. I could learn to
live with it, but....
By February, 2007, I suddenly developed
severe photophobia with intense eye
pain...which invariably leads to a killer
ache above my brow. It has been with me
daily, ever since. It's not brightness,
but light change which hurts me. I find
bright sunny days and fluorescent lighting
only mildly painful, while a single low
light...even a nightlight...will send me
screaming. It feels as if I have sprained
the muscles responsible for constricting
my pupil. Immediately after being exposed
to a change in light, I will feel a cramp
in my eye. The cramp is most severe in the
eye that is closest to the light source.
The headache is always over the affected
eye/eyes. One thing of interest I found by
accident...the pain is relieved by having
my eyes dilated. It seems that removing my
eyes ability to adjust to light relieves
the pain.
I've been checked by a neurologist....who
sent me to a sleep specialist, and an
ophthalmologist...who sent me to a
neuro-ophthalmologist...who sent me to a
different neurologist...who sent me to a
retina specialist...who sent me back to
the neurologist...who has just sent me to
an immunologist and an endocrinologist. I
wonder who they'll send me to?
I've had 3 eye exams, an MRI, EEG, and an
overnight sleep study, all with normal
findings. I've used LSD 3 times....in the
80's....If that's it, it sure took it's
own sweet time making me pay for my fun.
