And it was bfn. I still haven't started
though, so if I don't start by sunday I
think I will test again. I'm guessing I
am not though. I have been wondering if
my body is ovulating at all. I think I am
but I really don't know. It's just that I
was on birth control for so long, and now
my cycle is just all screwed up. This is
only our first true month trying to have a
baby, and I have been off birth control
since june. How long should I wait before
consulting with my ob again? I haven't
seen him since march. Should I just wait
till march when I go in for my annual?

I was on the pill for 12 years, also just
came off at the very beginning of june.
Have had very irregular af's (45, 50 &
51 days so far). We have been trying
since june and no luck yet. I was not
sure if I was ovulating, so I went to my
doc after about 4 months and I just had
tests done not too long ago to check my
hormone levels, and had an ultrasound to
check for pcos, blockage, etc.... The
results came back in "normal", so that's
great news, but still not sure if my body
is releasing a the little eggie I need
each month?? I'm sure if I wasn't though,
my tests would have indicated
something?!
If you are also experiencing irregular
af's I would go to your doctor now and
request some tests done, just to be
sure!!!
They do say, however, that it takes the
average heathly couple 6 months to a year
to get pregnant, so if you just started, I
wouldn't be concerned as of yet!
Good luck and keep us posted!!!

I don't know if it makes a difference
since your in canada but the typical
saying around here (minnesota) is try for
a year and then call us or miss two
periods and then call us until then we
don't want to do anything. Fyi
a little annoying but I guess its
understandable.

Hey
i thought exactly the same, I went to my
doctor and voiced my concerns that I didnt
think I was ovalating.... So simple she
told me to come in on day 21 of my cycle
and she took a blood sample. Which
showed I was ovalating.
I have been trying for over a year with my
current partner. However in a previous
relationship I was trying for 2 years and
nothing. Usually I only have a lot of
sex during when am ovalating.... But from
now on I am goign to try every 2nd day
from day 1, this allows the sperm to
mature etc.
My period was due over a week and a half
ago, and it still hasnt come.... So I did
a test when I was 3 days late, and I got a
light positive. I did another test the
next mornign and got a negative, then the
same afternoon another negative. So I
thought okay il leave it.... A week went
by and I read the back of the box and it
said to contact ur doctor... So I did,
she said that some people even tho they
feel pregnant and are late a test wont
show up .... As they dont have high hcg
levels or something and they need to be
tested by there blood, my results come
next week. To be honest even though I
have been sick for 4 days and sore breasts
I dont think I am pregnant. I always
have a regular period, but iv been
stressed at work and not eating properly
and I suffer from anemia and I think this
is the real reason..... But u never
know.
Fingers crossed for ya x

I am feeling a little better, thanks for
the comments all. I just realized
something this morning though. My cycle
was 35 days long last time. It has been
continually getting longer. I think the
one before that was like 31 days long. I
may not be ovulating when I think I am,
which mean I may still have a chance this
month. I am trying not to get my hopes
up. It didn't hit me until I was reading
my pathophys book for class and it said
that normally you ovulate 14 days before
your period. If it is like last month. I
would barely be near implantation now. I
am just going to wait it out. I don't
want to test again until I am like a week
late.

too many people think it is 14 days after
- but that is wrong. It just happens that
if you have a average 28 day cycle then it
works out 14 either way.
But yeah ovulation occurs before
menstruation and the hormones caused by
the corpus luteum are what cause the
period later.
The luteal phase (post ovulation) doesn't
often vary much from 14 days, but the
follicular phase (pre ovulation) can vary
wildly even within the same woman.

You think I would understand this. In my
second anatomy and phys class over the
summer I had to memorize the menstrual
cycle including all the hormones. I guess
I focused so much on memorization that it
totally slipped my mind.
Thanks for your help!

Hi ladies -thanks for the responses!!
I didn't have to wait for a year to have
some tests done - they did them this
month, and I only came off the pill in
june?! I would suggest trying what lainey
said - ask about a blood test on or around
cd21 to see if you're ovulating!! I never
had that done, they didn't tell me about
that, so now I am going to ask my doctor
about that if I get a bfn this coming
month!!!! I don't know what the heck they
checked when they did my bloodwork?? The
doc just said, "we'll take some blood to
make sure that your hormone levels aren't
really low", and when I called for the
results, the nurse just said "everything
came back ok". Hmmmmm.....Sometimes I am
not a fan of doctors!!!
Well - have absolutley no idea when to
expect o or a/f for that matter, so we
have been bd'ing every second day since
cd10 - I think i'm on cd27 now. Hoping
the ovulex i'm taking will be fantastic
and work for me with just one bottle!!!
Wishful thinking - I know! Lol!
Good luck ladies - and keep us all
posted!!!

Oh, by the way, I am from the us, not
canada. Good luck with the ovulex
jamierian. I think that if I have no luck
by the time I go for my annual in march
that I will start asking questions. My
mom had a really hard time getting
pregnant the first time and she had never
been on birth control. The second time
didn't take as long, and then the third
was via using the sponge. They were taken
off the market shortly after she got
pregnant. I have high hopes.
