Check This Website, Might Help... Posted: 02-05-04 18:39pm
they will have someone there to help out
with your questions...
They have a specific product called the
body rox that is specifically designed for
teens. It has all the essential nutrient
you need for a growing body.
Let me know what you think, I love
feedback...And I can answer all
questions...
all other vitamins on the
shelf, because they are under the food
category, only have to contain 25% of what
is on the label...All the rest is
filler!
so if there is truth behind that then...
I can take the amount listed *25% (or /4)
and approx. What the actually amount is
so I shouldnt have to worry at all about
what listed being too much or anything
right?

Depends On the Brands You Choose Posted: 02-06-04 01:57am
I wouldn't guarantee anything...You really
have to research the brand of vitamin that
you are using...You have to find out what
it really contains...
I know that usana is graded and tested
monthly...So I trust it...
You can see online what they put in their
body rox formula, under their
nutritionals...That will give you a good
guideline what someone your age should be
consuming...
So look under products, then hit
nutritionals..And then look for their
content...It wil list everything...If not,
email them..And they will tell you exactly
what is in their body rox...That is the
vit designed for teens...
As for other companies...I don't know what
they contain...All I know is that if they
are not willing to give you the full
details..They're hiding something...
Hope this helps...

Just a note of caution, that seems like a
lot of vitamins and minerals for a 12 year
old boy, especially the vanadium and a few
others, vanadium is used for diabetics.
Please do your homework and research
vitamins for your age. I personally don,t
take artificial vitamins, I order whole
food vitamins from a doctor, they are
called phytonutrients, much of what is in
an artificial vitamin passes right through
your body without doing much good.

Vitamins etc are only needed if you're not
getting enough from your food, or if your
body doesn't metabolize what you eat
(& it may still not metabolize what
you take) or if you need extra due to
health issues etc. So first I would
suggest that you consider what you are
actually getting from your food, what you
are not getting, what your daily activity
levels are & so what you need of
vitamins & minerals etc plus what you
need due to any health issues or stress
etc.
It does seem though as if what you listed
initailly was over the top.
As to natural versus synthetic arguments.
Natural is usually best for anything but
not always right for every individual or
in every individual case as we are all
different. Then too there are issues of
cost vs effectiveness etc.
I suggest you research, talk to dr,
family, rersearch & then start low as
some supplements can do damage (also are
you on any meds?) so by starting low &
building up you can see when you reach a
level that seems to be right for you.
