Well when I went I just said I took a test and it came out positive, they didn't bother to test me because I had used a clearblue test. He asked me what I had chosen to do, checked my blood pressure, prescribed me folic acid and got me an appointment for the week after with a midwife. Oh also he gave me my edd. Good luck !

Nope he asked me what test I used I said clearblue, and he said there's no point in testing you again really because you are over a week late (i had never been late since I started) and had other symptoms etc. Apprently doctors don't test you again if you used clearblur because they are as accurate as a doctor's test

I thought it was strange too but chose not to question it, if he said it was fine then I just presumed it was

Was that because you used clearblue or because it was obvious?

Neither! I was only 4 weeks along and i'd used a supermarket brand test and got a faint positive. She didn't test me and gave me a prescription for iron and floic acid tablets (.Pregaday) and told me she would arrange for the midwife to visit me at home when I was around 10 weeks or so.

I didn't get tested either (not with any pregnancy).
You just go tell the doctor you have taken a positive home pregnancy test and then you sort an appt to see the midwife - job done!

I didn't get prescribed pre-natals or foli acid though - it was recommended but not prescribed.

I had to provide proof (by having .Planned .Parenthood take a test and fax the results) to be treated for my pregnancy, but that was because the facility caters only to pregnant women.

if you took your test to show him, he wouldnt have asked which one did u use, because he would have seen it himself. ?

Why did u bother taking a test to the doctors when they usually test u anyway? Might just be me, but I dunno of anyone who has taken their test with them to show it.

I've got to admit it would be kinda pointless because the test's say not to read after 10 mins due the chances of an evaporation line forming.

I took my test with me actually, just in case the doctor wanted to see it but like I said, she didn't ask. Besides, it was a bit daft cos I could have given her a friend's test stick or something! I really did expect her to test me but nope! Found it a bit odd because I was given the form to sign so I would get free prescriptions until 12 months after the birth and I remenber thinking - wow someone could easily fake a pregnancy to get free scripts for a little while!

I took it because this is my first pregnancy and just thought he might want to see to check it I don't know really just took it, plus it still said positive so I thought it could help incase he doubted me saying it could be because i'm young and it could be an irregular period etc

Laughing I didn't think about that at all for a second actually I think I was still in shock from finding out and just wanted him to believe me because at my age a lot of people put it down to irregular periods which I have never had
