angers me the hell off.. Those kids should have been wearing their life jackets.. That dad should be charged with their deaths.

Sarah, they always seem to have a lot of problems at .Mardi gras. I don't think that they can see that good on some of those floats of course this was back several years ago, they might have changed the rules since then. I was in .Louisiana for a while.

This world, it makes you wonder what it is coming to! Did anyone hear about that one baby or child that past on in the swimming pool and the baby sitter was supposed to be watching it I think the baby was about two years old?
These adults know that if they are boating thatit is a law to wear life jackets, they should at least make sure the kids have them on. Some adults are just stupid!

That's awfull. Horrible, I so feel for that family!!

I'm always scared of things happening. I've been so paranoid since trey was born that my new saying is "don't be so afraid of dying that you can't live" I found myself to be scared of everything lately. Hmmmmm...Maybe somethings wrong with me. Lol

i think the guilt and pain he is going to be living with for the rest of his life is more than enough punishment.

Just yesterday, a lady tossed a little boy(maybe 3 or 4) off an overpass to his death, then jumped to hers here in .Toronto. That's sad!

I went to mardi gras here in my town once lol sounds kinda lame since it's in missouri and not new orleans.

But there were people having sex in the alleys and there were girls in the apartment buildings taking off their shirts on their balconies and it was crazy, I can't believe my mom let me go at the age of 13 lol I wouldn't let my daughter. I haven't been since then, it's not really a big deal for me, im not a partier. I just thought it was crazy that they were having sex in the alleys and we were standing by these strippers when the parade was going and they just left their shirts up on their chests the whole time, personally, I can't imagine flashing a bunch of people I dunno for beads :p

sad freak accidents have happened since the beginning of man when the local mammoth would step on a baby's head. The world isn't coming to anything.

This guest thing is really bugging me.

And they have a right to be scared, don't critisize just because they feel something that you dont.

Yeah, "guest" .. Obviously you aren't a parent, or if you are, not a very good one. Of course accidents &horrible things have always happened, but that doesn't mean it's unrational to be wary or scared of what's going on.

i was thinking the same thing. Jail is completely unnecessary. The pain and guilt he feels is wayyyyy more than enough. To toss him in jail would just be cruelty.

cruelty?! How do you figure?? Than man didnt give a rats ass enough about his young children to have them ewering life vests in the first damn place, .Kay... What the hell makes you think he's going to feel any remourse?? His youngest that he saved was wearing one, so you cant say he didnt think about it.

Any real mature parent wouldnt have left that dock without making sure they had them on, and if they were taken off mid-lake, they'd be immediately put back on.

He deserves to be punished, simply for being so irresponsible.

the mom didn't die. . Only the 2 older kids. The mom was on the news with her hubby reading a letter about how much they missed their kids and how much they were grieving.

There was *another* woman on the news last ight who slit her 3 year olds throat in front of her 3 month old baby. . .I'm not sure if she killed herself after that or not.

Thats odd.On our news it just said the 2 older's died. . .Its sad anyway. . .*if* the mom did live, why didn't she grab the kids and help them swim? Why didn't the dad help them swim? I can't imagine having kids and just letting them drown.
