Q: Folic Acid?

I just went to the docs to get my blood test done and I was like "i took two urine tests and they were both positive, what are the chance of the blood test being negative?" and she laughed at me! Laughed! So I guess I really am pregnant and I have to book my first ultrasound tomorrow. It's still shocking. The nurse told me to eat a lot of foods with folic acids until I see my doctor and get vitamins and stuff. What kind of foods contain folic acid?

First off, .Congrats on your pregnancy.
Second of all, dark leafy greens, dry beans, strawberries, oranges (fresh orange juice) and breakfast cereals are a few. I'm sure you will find plenty more if you search 'folic acid' online somewhere. Good luck.

Ya just go and buy some folic acid vitamins. I still find it so odd that you guys get your docs to precribe the pre-natals. We just buy 'em and the folic acid off the shelf here. We don't wait for the doc to tell us. Lol

Yeah i'm a vegetarian so I already eat a whole bunch of fruits and veggies, but yesterday I bought an over the counter vitamin called materna. It already has folic acid in it. I live in canada so I dont know if anywhere else your doctor prescribes prenatals. In ontario we have a wide variety at drugstores and stores like walmart. Congrats on the pregnancy!
