I found out I was pregnant... I'm at the
most 2 1/2 months along. This is my
first time and i'm only 22 so I don't know
too much. My question is how do you know
if you had or are having a miscarriage?
I know some of the signs are bright red
blood and abdominal cramping. I'm
confused because people I know who have
had one discribed this to me. I had
intercorse with my boyfriend which hurt a
little in the beginning, well we noticed
blood, a good amount, but as soon as we
stopped I stopped bleeding. Since then I
havn't bled and have had no pains. Could
this be a possible miscarriage or could I
have just been hurt during this time? I
don't know what to think?

Hey hun
hey hun my name is christina and I have a
5 week old son.. Your question about
misscarriage.. You started blleeding
while u and your bf were having sex? And
then it stopped when u stopped? K well in
my opinion I do not think that is a
misscarriage I bled a couple times when I
had sex with my bf during my pregnancy and
everything is fine.. If you cramp or
expel blood from your vagina or have clots
then I would definatley see a doctor to
check if ur having a misscarriage but as
of now I think ur fine... Good luck hun

Miscarraige Posted: 03-05-04 11:26am
Hi- i'm ruby and I had a miscarraige a
week and a half after I found out I was
pregnant.(just last wednesday) I have to
say that it is one of the strangest and
uncomfortable things i've ever gone
through in my life. Strange, only in the
fact that you just get over the inital
surprise and all the other emotions that
go along with finding out you're
pregnant--- and then in a blink of an eye,
it's over. All of a sudden you have to
deal with the fact that you won't be
having a baby (but your body still thinks
it is). It feels like you're speeding
down the highway of life and all of a
sudden your car switches to reverse.
First you're collecting congratulations
and best wishes from all your friends and
family--- next, you're having avoid
everyone because you're embarrassed,
depressed, not in the mood to talk about
it, etc. The one's who you do talk to
about the ordeal tell you that it's really
normal and that it's happened to several
of their friends. They tell you to buck
up--- and try again.
Tonight i'm supossed to go back to the
doctor's to have another vaginal
ultrasound. They will tell me if i'll
need to get a d & c ('it's like a
little vaccuum cleaner for your uterus,'
the doctor told me wednesday night.) I
have been bleeding for 7 days now but it's
getting so light I just need a tiny little
pany liner. The truth of the matter is,
i'm scared to death. I don't want the
little 'vaccuum cleaner' anywhere near me.
I am hoping that I go in there and they
tell me that my body has 'naturally
aborted' it all and that I can go home.
Does anyone out there know if this happens
most of the time? Are d & cs
necessary after most miscarraiges? And
what would happen if I just don't go to
the doctor at all...? (of course i'll go
if something funky happenes or I notice
something weird)...
I know i'm not the only one out there
that's been through this. I would love
some advice from someone who's been
there... Thank you....
Besos,
ruby

I think that your bleeding is because when
you are pregnant all your blood
vessel'relax' and a 'bump' on your cervix
could cause some bleeding.
A d&c is not always needed if you
miscarry. I had a miscarriage and
didin't have to have one and my friend
have 5 miscarriages and only had one
d&c. I am pleased to say we are both
now parents with healthy children

I had d&c' after all 4 miscarriages as
the drs here believe it reduces the
chances of infection & of having
another miscarriage. I would always
advise anyone to have a d&c after a
miscarriage (mine were all at the 5-6 week
mark.

Could This Be Another Miscarriage? Posted: 06-30-04 13:17pm
After 14 years of marriage and no birth
control my husband and I magically
conceived a child. I was exactly 8 weeks
pregnant when I started bleeding. My Dr.
Sent me to the er because I had
miscarried. I had no cramping and I very
lightly bled for two days, it wasn't even
as bad as a light period. That was really
hard. It is now 5 weeks later and I have
had the worst lower back pain for 4 days
now! I got my period last night. It's
extremely heavy, and there is lots of
clotting! Could this mean that I am
having another miscarriage? Is it
possible to have 2 consectative
miscarriages within five weeks, or is this
left over from my last miscarriage?
Please help!

Probably left over from last time. I
forget what its called when your body does
that, but its common during a miscarriage
for your body to hold onto the tissue and
keep it inside your body for awhile.
This can actually lead to an infection.
As unpleasant as it may seem, i'd call my
doctor, explain the situation, and ask him
if he would recommend you have a d&c
procedure. They go into your uterus and
clean out all the tissue that's left over
from your pregnancy.
I'm sorry this happened to you. I wish
you the best of luck in conceiving again.

Ok I found it. Its called an incomplete
miscarriage when your body only expels
some of the tissue, and a missed
miscarriage when your body doesn't expel
any of the tissue. Missed miscarriages
only account for 1% of miscarriages.
Quote:
tr>
an incomplete or
missed miscarriage that takes place early
in pregnancy is usually removed with
either suction or dilation and curettage
(d&c), “opening” the uterus and
scraping out its contents, through the
vagina, with an instrument called a
curette. These procedures not only clear
the uterus but also prevent infection.
When incomplete miscarriage occurs later
in pregnancy, the doctor may have to
induce labor to remove the fetus.

You Oughta Go to the Doctor Posted: 07-01-04 11:14am
If you miscarried, you'll probably need a
d&c to make sure the lining of your
uterus is clean... At least go and get a
vaginal ultrasound. You don't want to
end up with problems down the line...
