Carcinoma In Situ & Abdominal Mass Posted: 02-02-04 22:02pm
2 weeks ago I had to go in for punch
biopsy of my cervix. My pap showed
carcinoma in situ. My pap was done in
oct. I was just told 2 weeks ago it was
abnormal. I have to go back to get the
results in a few days. I am a bit
nervous because, I have since noticed a
round lump in my stomach. It feels like
my uterus and about the size I was when I
was 10-12 weeks pregnant. I am also
urinating frequently and have had
constipation with tenderness. I'm not
sure if this is from the biopsy, an
extreme premenstral bloating, or just
normal. My husband can feel this "lump".
Is it possible to palpate a normal
uterus by just gently pushing on your
stomach? Can cervical cancer progress
quickly?? I know it was "more or less"
in a precancer stage in october.
Also just to clarify... Since I feel
like I am pregnant... I highly doubt
that I can be, as my husband had a
vasectomy and I had my period 4 weeks ago.
I'd be going back to his doctor and
asking for some explaining to be done. I
hope someone can give me some insight. I
am very concerned. Thanks....

Hi the symptoms you describe are exactly
the same as I had just before christmas
except for the pap smear, I had bloating
frequent urination and the rest and it
turned out to be a large cyst on my left
ovary which believe me if they grow large
enough can make you feel pregnant, mine
has resolved itself with antibiotic help
and regular scanning to check it is
shrinking, they can take upto 3months to
go. Hope everything turns out okay
Went to Dr. Today. He said I need to
have a conization due to the biopsy
results.
I told him about the lump I felt in my
stomach and the symptoms of constipation
and frequent urination. After
examination, he scheduled a sonogram and
said to wait on the results of the
sonogram before scheduling conization.
He said that my uterus was slightly large
and that the mass was above my uterus-
could be fibroids or possibly ovary. This
mass did move around. Can fibroids or
cysts grow quickly?? From what I could
feel, I would say this is the size of a
peach. It was not noticed 2 weeks ago
when I had an exam with the biopsy.

Hi im glad youve seen the doctor you
should get sorted now, fibroids and cysts
can grow extemly fast but the good news is
they shrink just as fast in most cases.
Hope u r okay let me know how it all turns
out.

Not Fibroids Or Cysts .... But, Something Else Posted: 02-26-04 15:08pm
Okay- the sonogram did not show fibroids.
It did show "normal functional" cysts.
What it did show was my uterus is
enlarged! I guess about 12 weeks
gestation in size. The doctor wants to do
a hysterectomy. But first a cone biopsy
for the in situ, a d&c and laproscopy
to see what is going on. I am a bit
nervous. Anyone have something like this
before???
