Problems With Breathing In Winter Time
Posted: 12-07-06 18:36pm

Ok, I have this problem for a couple years now.
Every time it's winter I get respiratory problems.
Like when it's really cold.
I did a blood test, x-rays for my chest & nose...All nothing!!
So I went to a nose specialist and he told me I have a mild rhinitis(not enough to operate).
That was last year.
So this winter it's back again.
I'm going back to my nose specialist on the 22nd of jan.
But I want advice from anyone who has the same problem.
Cuz it's really annoying.
Sometimes at night I can't sleep cuz I can't breathe.
Even when I take a shower it gets worse.
Today i'm gonna try that vicks humidifier machine thingy.
I'm really desperate Crying
or Very sad
so please if anyone can help me reply back.
Ooh btw..I'm a 19 yr old male.

I have the same problem, but I have been diagnosed with asthma since I was 9. Cold weather triggers my asthma and makes it more difficult for me to breathe. Humidifiers may help, so definitely give that a try. I would also suggest trying those new tablets that dissolve in the shower. I think they're made by vicks or sudafed or something. They're supposed to help open you up and allow you to breathe more easily. Always dress warm when you're going outside. If you've not been diagnosed with asthma, tell your doctor about the problems you've been having and see if he can run a check for you. I've been on flovent for a year and it's really helped me. So if you do get diagnosed with asthma, ask for a daily steroid you can take to manage it because they are very beneficial!

Hope this helps!

Thx for the reply.

My doctor checked on me and he told me I don't have asthma.

I will definitely give those dis-solvable pills a try.

I went to the e.R the other day cuz I wanted try something else and they told me the same thing.

That I should keep taking fluonase until the end of the winter.

Apparently I wasn't spraying it in the right angle.

So i'll try that first and then we'll see.

I feel srry for u having asthma Sad
i can imagine how hard it is to live with it.

But always stay positive :d
