Recently diagnosed diabetic, found out day
before thanksgiving.
Been trying to get my mind wrapped around
the whole disease so to speak. Just
introducing myself and looking to meet
people with the disease and how they live
their life.
Also found a website and looking for
others for recipes to cook. Anyone
recommend any.
I don't have any direct recipes, but my
father-in-law has diabetes, and he
basically just keeps away from refined
carbs (sodas, white flours and sugars,
anything that's not a natural carbohydrate
like fruits and veggies). That seems to
help.
There is an absolute epidmic of diabetes
in the past 20 years due primarily to poor
diet, so you are not alone in your plight.
I'm sure more people will be able to
respond with some great recipes or
resources.
Best of health to you as you discover how
to work with this!
