Q: Birth control and dosage
asked by: DoctorQuestion on December 10th, 2006
I've been on Enpresse for about a year now and I'm usually good about taking my pills. Three days ago, I had otherwise unprotected sex with my boyfriend, and then that night I was about seven hours late in taking my next pill. I've heard that the "safe" zone for protection from pregnancy on the pill is six hours. Should I be worried about being pregnant?

Thanks for the help.

If you take your birth control pills properly (one every day), it seems likely that you are more than 99 % protected no mater how many hours pass between having sex and taking the pill.
