Boyfriend Wants a Baby....!?! Posted: 12-11-06 12:27pm
So I have been with my boyfriend for 2
years and 4 months. We are planning on
moving in together hopefully around
september of next year. And I think when
I graduate from high school this june he
is going to ask me to marry him..!!!
we had a scare
(kinda..) and thought I was pregnant one
time, but I wasnt. Ever since then its
all he talks about. He is always saying I
want a baby and everytime we see a baby
out together he looks at me and gives me
this sad puppy face (
) I feel so bad every time when I tell
him, I wanna wait..But he understands at
the same time. I have always done good in
school and he knows I wanna go to college
and stuff and have a good job before
*trying* for kids.
We are planning to *try* for them in about
2 years from now. I will be 19 when we
start trying to conceive, and 20 when I
have our first baby. This way I will also
be done 2 years of my college and will
have my rn. We will have also been living
together for about a year. I will be able
to land a good job right after those 2
years making about 38-56 dollars an hour.
Just wondering what your thoughts on this
are...And if anyone else's
boyfriends/hubby act like this??

I also forgot to add...We have been
sexually active for about 2 years ( he was
my first :p ) and while we are not trying
because I dont want to right now, we are
mature and responsible enough to take care
a child if I happend to fall preggo before
I want to...

I'm not sure I understand you. Does he
want a baby now, or in a few years?
There's a difference between looking at
baby items in a store and saying "aww, I
want one" and saying "let's try to have a
baby". Which is he?

well he does both. Every time we see baby
clothes or babies period he says "i want
one". And then he also says "i wanna try
for a baby, but I know you dont want to
right now."

The novelty wears off, trust me. Just
continue to protect yourself, get settled
into your own home and get in a good place
financially before you act on this. Your
baby deserves the world, so wait until
you're able to give it to them.

I am thats what I keep telling him, I just
hate seeing his face he looks so
dissapointed. Not only do I tell him I
wanna be financially stable and have our
own place, but I wanna live with just him.
I mean I wanna be able to do little
things and be alone whenever we want for
at least a year...Then maybe a kid.

Don't let his disappointment get to you,
it would be better for you to wait, and he
will realize that eventually. You are
right to want to be alone and finacially
stable before you have a baby.

Thanks guys!! Its nice having other girls
to talk to, I used to go to my best friend
and talk about anything. But lately she
has been hanging out with a bad crowd so
we dont talk very much, and she wont
listen to me about anything. Also my
boyfriend is my best friend, so we talk
about everything. But its always nice to
get other girls oppinions, exspecially
ones who have gone through this kinda
stuff...Thanks bunches

Just wondering tiamarie, where do you live
that rn's get paid so much right out of
school. That's very interesting. I live
in alabama (yeah I know that says it all)
and new rn's at the hospitals here get
paid 18 hour for day shift, 22 for night
shift, 30 for weekend day shift, and 34
for weekend night shift. I work at the
hospital as a tech right now which is how
I know this. Just wondering why we are so
underpaid here. You can pm me if you want
or just repost here.

My first boyfriend, whom I was sexually
active with, told me later on that he was
poking holes in the condoms to try to get
me pregnant .
If he's that obsessed with having a baby,
I suggest you take the responsibility to
protect yourself from pregnancy until you
are ready to conceive.

i live in maryland, and we get paid really
well up here, although things are a lot
more expensive then in southern states. A
girl I know just graduated with her rn and
started out at 38 dollars an hour. My mom
who doesnt have a high school diploma and
never went to school, makes 18 dollars an
hour in a doctors office doing billing, so
I dont know why we would make more, I
guess to keep up with the expsence of
living up here.

im on birth control and have been for over
2 years, and I know that he would never do
something like that to me, becuase he
knows 1 I would leave him, and 2 he knows
how much school and everything means to
me.
