There is no limit of abortions that you may have.

Sterility and complications are low nowadays, and I am shocked that someone would answer in such a manner.

Many women have 2-3-4 abortions, yest have 2-3 healthy children.

Hi, carifairy.

I have been in contact with the woman wanting to know this question via private messages and I did tell her that there is no legal limit to the number of abortions a woman is entitled to. However, I did inform her that if she had had quite a lot of terminations (five+) her gp could (although he is not supposed to) refuse if he is pro-life or disagrees with carelessness (if this is the issue here).

If you are reading this, you'll be fine; trust me. A cousin of mine had three terminations and bore a healthy daughter in the end. Obviously with the more abortions a woman has, the more risks exist, but this is not really an issue amongst us; chilbirth is eleven times more health-provoking than abortion.

Some extra info krypos, if you are pming her..

Sterility was especially an issue back in the day due to severe infections that often accompany illegal abortion.

Yeah, but i'm pretty certain that three abortions are not very likely to cause sterility today. You haven't had such a problem, have you?

Also, just on the subject of sterility, i'm pretty sure it's low. My mum aborted once before me and I was born healthy; my cousin terminated three times and had a healthy daughter; my auntie has had two terminations and then three healthy, lively boys. I'm very certain the woman in question has nothing at all to worry about.

I have a period and ovulate every month, I have also had a transvaginal ultrasound and other tests to ensure that my uterus is normal.

I did this because so many pl people states 'you are screwing up your insides', so I had my insides looked at Wink

my uterus is healthy and normal, with no appearance of scar tissue of any kind.

I couldn't believe the reply from the Dr. I have had two abortions - one at 20 weeks in 1973 and one at 12 wks in 1980. I have two teenage children and had two of the easiest pregnancies and deliveries of anyone I know.

I recall in 1980 asking the clinic about this prior to my second abortion and they very matter of factly said - there is a slight chance it may affect whether you can get pregnant or carry to term but this would be due to infections or problems with the abortion.

and those chances are very, very small. If I remember correctly, less than 1% of abortions will lead to complications and your health condition at the time of the abortion is the largest indicator of whether you will have a complication or not.
