I have some odd and unusual symptoms that
have completed stumped my Dr. They are:
burning feeling in mouth and tongue
sore tongue
facial sweating
running eyes and nose and sneezing
i have been tested for allergies, thyroid,
iron, anaemia and everything is
clear and I am at a loss as to know what
to do next. Has anyone else suffered
these symptoms and can offer a solution.

Although you say you've been tested for
allergies there's no way anyone can be
tested for all allergies much less for the
effects of a combination of things which
could also be the cause of an allergic
reaction.
The burning feeling in your mouth &
tongue plus the sore tongue go together to
suggest a food, or air spray or anything
you might breathe in through your mouth
(are you a person who breathes through
your mouth at night?). The running nose
& sneezing also suggest hayfever,
allergy even sinus or any combination.
It's a combination which I would suggest
might be the problem. When did this
start? Did anything change about that
time? Also it could be worth considering
an emotional trigger, that doesn't make
you nuts, just human & emotions can
cause some pretty awful affects on our
body!!
As to the facial sweats, well the rest is
all to do with the face (mouth, tongue,
nose) so I still come down on the side of
some allergy.
Try antihistamines (strong ones & if
you can you might try taking a break away
from home for a couple of weeks & see
if that helps, but also change your
washing powder, talc, perfumes etc. If
the break away provides an improvement
then you have some sort of answer, if not
then I guess it's back to the drawing
board.
Good luck.

Odd & Unsual Symptoms Posted: 02-06-04 06:00am
Thank you for your helpful comments. I
am actually on antihistamines at the
moment and they are keeping the worst of
the symptoms at bay but are not as
effective any more as they were a couple
of years ago.
I had a complete change of lifestyle when
I visited australia for 6 weeks last year,
different food, different wash powders
etc. And the symptoms were as bad as they
always are.

In your reply you mentioned "a couple of
years" in reference to antihistamines, so
obviously this problem has been around
several years(?) - I assume you do change
antihistamines from time to time as our
bodies get "used" to them & ignore
them.
Right now though the only other thing that
occurs to me is to ask whether maybe you
had taken (even if you aren't any longer)
any medication (prescibed or over the
counter) at the time this started or not
long before. Sometimes medications can
cause some weird & long term side
effcts that are almost unique to one
person.
Given that you talk about your dr but
don't mention any alternative therapies, I
suggest you try homeopathy &/or
naturopathy they sem to me to be your best
chances with something this well
entrenched.
Good luck.

Homeopathy is an excellent suggestion
here. The homeopath will literally match
your exact symptoms to the homeopathic
medication that is just right for you.
He or she also may be able to do
additional testing for allergies (using
your muscle reactions not injected under
the skin) and then eliminate the allergies
through a desensitizing treatment using
the culprit. There is a homeopathic
company called king bio inc. I would go
to their website and get their number.
If you call them they can match you to a
Dr. Near you who can help you out.

Thank you for all your comments. I have
had these systems off and on for years but
coming back with a vengeance over the last
4-5 years. At the moment I have been
trying chlorella tablets which seems to
help a little but I will most definitely
consider visiting a homepathic
practitioner. It sounds like good
sense.
