Pregnancy And School
Posted: 12-11-06 23:41pm

I just made a really big decision today. I applied to college and was accepted as a full time student. I start this january and my term ends end of july/beginning of august-ish. My due date is august 10th so i'll be cutting it close. I also work part time but very long hours as a server and I think I want to continue doing that while i'm in school too. Do you think that's going to be too much? Have any of you went through the same thing? Going to school and being pregnant..I know some of the symptoms are gonna get in the way (nausea, headaches, food cravings blah blah blah)

I think you can do it if you really want to. I also think that you'll be extremely tired and frustrated. But yes, it is possible.

You can definately do it if thats what you really want. I've been in college this whole semester while pregnant and I really haven't had any problems. I will also still be doing full time next semester when my little ones born (feb. 14th). When you enroll for courses see if you can work your schedule out to give you more time. I'm found that I can take all my courses on tuesday and thursdays next semester so then I still have m,w,f for the baby and work...

Yeah I tried doing that..But it couldnt work so I have classes from tuesday to friday. But i'm a really hard worker so I think I can do this. It's exciting. It'll be an interesting experience. I want to be a highschool teacher so i'll be in school for awhile but I want to take a year off after the baby is born

since you wanna do that...Whats the point starting college before you have the baby? You may aswell just wait to do it all at once after your 'year off'.

Because I want to get ahead. Even if it is only one year. If I go to school now, this january i'll finish in july/august(my first year) and then i'll take a year off to take care of the baby. Then i'll go back to school september 2008 and finish may 2011...Rather than if I start my first year 2008 and finish in 2012. It doesnt seem like a big deal I guess. But i've been wanting to go back for a long time. I really want to get my career atleast started.

I think it's a great idea to start college. If you have a year under your belt you may be more likely to go back and finish. If you wait a year you may say, "well, i'll just take another year" and another turns into another. Time flies when you have kids.
