Help, Hypochondria/anxiety Stuff

Hi guys,
i am a fourteen year old male.
I was having a very lite tingling in my hand. As the anxious, nervous person I am I became worried. I am totally irrational when it comes to health, so I began searching the web for answers.

My mom told me she gets it sometimes from bad back, and I realized I had been using the computer in a terrible position, bad for my back. I figured I had a pinched nerve at that point.

However right before that I was on wikipedia looking up tingling and I came across some horrible diseases such as als, ms, etc. I went to the als page, being a yankee fan and all and hearing about the horrors it brought upon gherig, and read the symptoms. Since then, I had a twitch or two and felt somewhat weak and fatigued in math class. I should mention these symptoms came about only after reading the als page. But yet, as the hypochondriac I am, I still can't reassure myself it isn't one of these horrible illnesses, even when I read it affects middle aged people more so than teens.

Please help, do I have a medical problem, or is my assumption that this is mental correct. It scares me to think I could have a fatal disease, and I have always been this way. I know, i'll stay off the internet after this, but I just need an answer.

Thank you!

I am the exact same way!!! I am 29 years old and have felt this way most of my life! I always worry about the worst! I've had all the medical test done and everything was fine! But, in my mind it's not! Like right now i'm having tinglin in my left hand. I automatically think diabetes. Anxiety and stress can make you do and think alot of things. It can effect you emotionally and physically! Go see your doc and ask about anxiety meds. That helped me tremendously.

Hello anxiousguy, please dont worry, im sure you will be fine. My son is a little older than you, and had similar problems, feeling ill at school ect. Because you are worried that there is something wrong with you, it is playing on your mind, im almost sure the only thing wrong with you is that you are a little anxious. Try practicing relaxation when you are out and about, if you find this difficult, go to see your gp. If you practice relaxing long enough, it will become habit, just as you are practicing being anxious, you need to reverse the process.

But please, im sure you will be fine

kind regards.

I to get these tingling sensations and I work on a computer very often I also suffer from panic and anixety which can lead you to believe un-realistic things when they are minor for the tingling 1this might be carpal tunnel or maybe your posture try stretching and not sitting down so long in the same position it can also be tension and nerves from the anxiety.

Dear anxiousguy,

i can totally relate to you. I a fifteen year old girl who has had anxiety for almost three years now, I also am a hypochondriac. I know exactly how you feel. For me though it was the stomach flu, which is so common and makes it even harder since its around you more than some diseases and things. I looked it up on the internet, and since then I relate every little thing to it. I'll have a symptom and then i'll be like, "well thats a symptom close to the symptom that was on the site..." I understand just how hard it is. So I am here to reasure you that you are fine, and you wont get the disease. The things that anxiety can cause seriously have no limits. I know its hard but keep trying to reasure yourself that you'll be okay, and maybe you need to talk to your doctor about getting tested for anxiety, because if you have it there are many things that can help you feel better, although you'll have to work hard.
Good luck and feel better!
