Or walking with him.
Do you have any orajel? He could be
teething. Many people prefer the hylands
tablets, but for *immediete* relief, try
orajel.
I know many nights nana woke up and the
only thing that helped her
was orajel. As soon as I applied it, she
literally passed out.
Maybe you could massage his belly. And
there are 2 pressure points above the butt
(near the lower back dimples) that you
could massage as well. It helps with
constipation/cramps.

Warning -tmi..sorry Posted: 12-13-06 16:36pm
Thanks...Yeh I think hes still
constipated. I dont know why tho? He
eats fruit and veg most days and gets
fibre, plus he seems to drink enough so I
dont know why all of a sudden hes like
this.
The same thing happened today as a few
days ago when I posted about him seeming
scared to push poop out and like it hurt
so he was holding it in, consequently
making his tummy hurt. Hes done the same
thing on and off again today. I tried
giving him califig syrup like last time
but he spat most out (it tastes awful) and
what he did eat hasnt helped at all. Ive
held his legs up in his chest and done the
cycling motion.
Hes just finally fallen asleep now. I
hate this cos I feel so stressed out I
cant do anything to help him, its
upsetting to see him like this. Any
suggestions? He wont let me move his
legs real high up so maybe hes got a small
cut just on the inside of his butt, making
it sore so hes scared to push? I just
dont know. I tried putting vaseline on
it too.
He still hasnt pushed any out..So its
gonna be the same tomorrow

Gas drops, or a lil prune juice. Also you
can run run run with his legs.. Push them
up to his chest stretch them out over and
over, infant message is good too there is
one called I love you where you do and I
on the right side of the tummy a backwards
l on the left and then a u down and around
to the other side is to help with
digestion. Rubbing the bottom of the feet
can help sometimes too

Thanks claudia! Ive been so upset over
this, I feel like crying just typing this
because its so hard watching your baby in
pain and being scared and not knowing how
to help them, and thinking its all your
fault cos your feeding them the wrong
things or...Just doing something wrong.
hes finally poo'd this morning...A lot
actually which is good. But I was still
so worried because it hurt him again, he
was crying and scared, I felt so helpless
and dreaded it happening over and over for
days/weeks.
so I
phoned .N.H.S direct for advice. a
nurse phoned me back. She asked a bunch
of questions.
She said it most likely happened because
of the baby painkillers ive been giving
him for like the past week+. She said
all painkillers have an effect. (i didnt
know this) they cause constipation. So
as he was having paracetamol twice or more
every day/night, thats what made him
constipated and in pain -scared to push it
out.
Im sooooooooo relieved I can breathe now!
It was awful. His cold was much better
yesterday so I stopped giving him medicine
then. So fingers crossed hes ok from now
on. She also said keep giving him apple
and orange juice to keep him going
regularly if needed. I must have said
thank you to the nurse like 20 times lol
-so glad I phoned!

They are brilliant aren't they? I've
rung them a few times (twice when I was
pregnant and once when I accidentally took
two of my antihistamine tablets instead of
one) and the nurses I have spoken to have
always been really thorough and kind.
I'm glad that .Lucas is feeling better now
- and you too! - my friends's baby has
always suffered dreadfully with
constipation, so much so she bleeds it's
heartbreaking to see a little one in so
much pain. She gives her .Lactulose but
I think if you can sort the problem more
naturally, like with orange juice, then
that is nice. Not always possible
though!
I can sympathise with the disturbed nights
you're having too cos my little man has
got a cold too and he's currently waking
me at 5am and making little whimpering
noises in his sleep on and off all night
so I keep waking up!
Gah kids...We love em really!

when hes not well and on medicine.
