My wife has had surgical clips in her
breast for about 12 years and her breasts
are always sore. Is it a common practice
to leave these surgical clips in her
breasts?

I Can't Answer That But? Posted: 02-25-07 19:55pm
I was wondering what they were? I had a
biopsy 2 years ago and they marked the
area with a needle & marker. I was
wondering if that is the same?

Yes. We leave these clips in. They are
placed during surgery to clamp off small
little blood vessels. They are made of
Titanium which is an inert metal that the
body doesn't react to. This is a very
routine thing in all types of surgery.
