Landon Sleeping In His Own Bed
Posted: 12-14-06 11:58am

Hey ladies! Well, for the past month and a half landon has ended up sleeping in our bed :s I dont like him being so far away and he seemed to like it obviously, but now I feel really bad because he has to learn to sleep in his own bed. So last night he fell asleep at 9pm and woke up at 430 ( which is when he usually wakes up, just that once and then sleeps til 8am) so its awesome! But last nite I put him in his own bed and he woke up at 430 and I fed him without taking him out of his crib because I thot then he probably wouldn't fall asleep in his own bed again. Then he just wanted to play and was wide awake! So I tried walking around with him for 10 min or so to put him to sleep cuz he was yawning and stuff , my husband said just put him in our bed and see wat happens, and as soon as his head touched that pillow, he was out. So I just wanted to know wat you ladies think I should do , when I feed him in the middle of the nite should I take him out of his crib? Or leave him in there? Or..Just wanted some imput. Thanks!

I think you need to make a new routine. Take him out of his crib, feed him, rock him a bit or do whatever he likes, and put him back down. He just needs to get used to things.

Do you not burp him? I'm just wondering because you said you didn't take him out. If I don't burp finn or he falls asleep without burping he usually throws up all over himself.

Dont' you burp him after every feeding? I wouldnt' not burp her because the times the she would burp she ended up puking all over the bed. It's happened like 3 times. But melia sleeps in her own bed until she starts moving around until like 3 or 4 and then I put her in my bed without feeding her and she sleeps til I wake her in the mornings when we have to leave for work. And on the weekends she sleeps until 8 or 9ish.

So I think that is fine. I sleep much better when she is in her crib...But I sleep longer when she is in the bed with me. So I do both.

oh alrite , so just feed him like I usually do during the day like feed him while holding him burp him but should I put him down awake ? That usualy doesnt work too good, gotta put him down while hes sleeping or tired usually works, but not sure wat to do if hes just wide awake in his crib when I put him back down. And yes I do burp him hehe opps, just sat him up in his crib last night and burped him

My son is the same. After he wakes up in the morning to eat, for some reason he will go right back to bed if I put him in our bed.
Oh well, whatever, I dont care. I would rather go back to sleep then have to entertain him that early in the morning, lol!! Laughing

yes I do burp him everytime. Ya thats wat landon does, he sleeps straight threw til 430am, then eats then sleeps straight til 8am. And last nite after his feeding at 430 I put him in my bed and it worked really good, but I dont know if im going to be making a bad habbit by keep putting him in our bed like that in the long end u kno?

When .Oni got sick (before her .R.S.V) she started sleeping in our bed.

So, when I put her in her crib, I put a pillow behind her, to mimic my body. Then I put a dirty(not really dirty, just worn) shirt by her so she can smell my scent. That really calms them down.

How old is he now??

He's got to learn that his bed is for sleeping, not yours.

During the day, put him in his crib to nap. And when he wakes up, let him lay there for a min to soak up his surroundings.

I put .Oni in her bed wide awake and she falls asleep. It took me a while to accomplish totally, but she's a pro now!!

Then I transfer him to the crib.
