I am not talking down to people who
couldnt breastfeed. I am appalled with
doctors who s only interest is to make
money from pharm. Companies and push
"supplementing" as the only way to go.
Im sorry if you took offense to
that.
of course she's upset with her decision,
she wants to breastfeed with all of her
heart.
I said the same thing when .K told me that
even though .Oni had breastmilk .Jaundice,
I could've breastfed. But I didn't make
an uproar about pharmasutical companies
and how synthetic and bad for babies,
formula is.
I took an influence to get a second
opinion on things concerning that.
It's cool, i'm not trying to cause a
fight. I'm not the only one who saw the
negativity flying off of that post.
It's too close to .Christmas to argue!!
I'm sorry for even jumping in.
they told me she had to
start supplementing when she was 4 days I
still breastfeed but she dosent get nearly
enough compared to formula I want to ween
her off the formula the dr said only
breasfeed for 46hrs but im scared it
would be like starvng her. I have
been taking herbs a few days now I hope it
starts to
help
okay who told you you "had" to start
supplementing?
Formula is just a bunch of artificial crap
and synthetic chemicals, breastfeeding is
so much better!!!! It is the perfect
proportion of vitamins and minerals.
I would tell them to shove their formula
up their
@sses.
ok, you wanna talk about reading
comprehension?
How do you say this in one sentence, and
in another "i'm formula feeding my child,
hello?!!"
what exactly happened with you that you
didn't breastfeed?
I'm bitter too about not being able to
breastfeed, but i'm certainly not going to
come on here and tell someone to ignore
her *child's doctors* instructions.
That's insane...
I know you do a lot of research, but do
not try to influence someone to do
something that goes against Dr.S orders.
Period.
Claudia, keep doing what you're doing.
But don't stop pumping. My problem was
I was at the Dr.S office everyday for 2
weeks after .Oni was born. I didn't
have the time to pump, and therefore my
milk never came in.
Reguardless of if you're attempts fail,
your child will not become deformed or ill
from being on formula. No matter how
"synthetic" it is...
Sarah
please. Wow you are naive. Any doctor
that would tell me someone to give their
healthy child formula over breastmilk, I
would dump in a second.
If you believe everything every doctor
tells you, I feel sorry for you.
Do you not realize that these doctors get
paid insane amounts eveyrtime they hand
out cans of formula??
Doctors also told eveyrone in the 60's to
get the polio vaccine-guess what happened?
Thousands of people died from it.
Doctors also told me that I didnt have
intersticial cystitis, and guess what?
Now I have some serious problems with it
because it went untreated for so long.
How many more examples do you need?
I went against doctors orders and it saved
my son from a tremoundous amount of
pain.
I went against doctors orders and
prevented my son from being tube fed.
I went against doctors orders and put my
son on a prescription formula, which
prevented food protein entercolotis.
I went against my doctors orders and
hunted down a professor of pediatrics at
the university of missouri to put my son
on a medication that would heal his
esophogus, because no one would.
Because of all of that, my son is now a
pain free baby.
What happened with me that I couldnt
breastfeed? My son cant digest protein,
and many other things. Anything that I
ate pretty mcuh, made him incredibly
sick.

I feel sick every day knowing my son
neeeds to be on formula. Too bad most
people have no idea what is actually in
formula. I dont have a choice though.
Maybe catch up on your reading.
so what did people do before
the 60 years ago when they couldnt
breastfeed??
many used cows or goats milk-which we now
know that in infants it causes vitamin
deficiencies etc, thats why they made
"formula"

they gave milk (cow's milk, goat's milk,
whatever) and extremely thin mashed up
food. My uncle couldn't have (and still
can't have) any milk so my gram always
feed him homemade baby food.

I apologize natalia, but sometimes your
holier than though attitude grates on my
nerves but I do apologize, it was not nice
of me.
All I have to say is to each their own, do
what .Y.O.U feel is best.

I breast fed until last saturday night
when my baby was put into the hospital and
wouldnt' eat. I dried up in 2 days. I
couldn't help that. I miss breast
feeding my baby. I loved it. I know
that she is healthier, however because the
dr's have handed me 1 can of formula since
the 1 day that I started my ob appointment
I have over 20 cans and I won't have to
pay for it for a while. Lol but just
because they gave it to me and told me to
use it didn't mean that I did and I didn't
because I wanted to breastfeed. Just
because your doctor says something you
should resurch it and maybe get a 2nd
oppion.
Claudia get a specialest to help you out
to see if you can produce more. At this
point do what you think is right. Maybe
you should try to get her on a scedual.
That might help. But like laura's post
don't skip a breast feeding session if you
can help it.

It is different for a lot of babas and
.Mommy's, some can breastfeed while others
cannot, I really tried but it just was not
happening even though I did breastfeed for
sometime it was not for long and both my
.Mom and my .Sister tried but had no luck
at all, even though my health is not too
good, it is not from formula as my sister
was given the same thing and she is in
good health, all people and babies are not
alike. My kids are in great health and
we have a great bond and they were mainly
formula fed and they are grown. True,
.Claudia, it might be a good idea to check
into this, if you want to breast feed and
if you are having problems but don't feel
that you are a bad .Mom if you cannot
breast feed! Don't believe everything
you read on the internet especially when
you have known people who have not
breastfed and are in great health. I
believe what I see. I have seen women
that are going through chemo that cannot
breastfeed and their babies are healthy on
formula and are doing great! I am not
looking for a fight either, just stating
what I know and have seen.
If anyone wants to breastfeed, that is
great, believe me, I am not against it but
if you are unable, you are unable and you
shouldn't feel bad about it.
