I'm a little embarrassed to ask this but i've always been kinda wondering.(sorry if this makes me sound immature or naive or something) anyway, when you're in labour, and you're pushing or what not. How do you exactly push? What muscle do you use? Is it the same as if you're going #2? Just curious.... Confused

No, it's not the same muscle as when you poo. When I was pushing, I kept pushing as if trying to poo and the midwife had to put her fingers up my vagina Embarassed and show me where I should concentrating on pushing. It sounds weird but once I felt where I should be pushing, I was able to do it properly. I think I did poo a little bit earlier on though but nothing was said and quite frankly my mind was on other more pressing matters! Laughing

Actually, I did push like I was going poo. I just bore down and tried to keep my face as calm as possible. I was so paranoid about popping the vessels in my eyes and face. It only took me 9 minutes to push her out.

I was pushing wrong at first, and the nurse told to to push like I was pooping. After that, he came out rather quickly!

I pushed like I was taking the biggest crap of my life. But I focused it in my vaginal area as well as my bottom.

I pushed, maybe 7 times(sets of a couple pushes each time) and she came out.

In between pushes I actually apologized ahead of time if I pooped everywhere Embarassed . But I was good, and didn't poop myself!

I had to push like I was going to poo. I pushed twice and she was out it took 6 minutes I was really lucky. And a lot of people do poo because the babies head is pushing on the rectum if there is anything in the way while they come out it comes out too

Ya I think it sorta works the same way as going #2 just focusing the pressure to a diff area, I only had to push 4 times and my daughter was here but it was weird but I didnt have an epidural and ic ould feel like as her head was coming down and out wich was interesting, with my son I had an epi and felt nothing but evidently was doing it right lol they said. If u dont get pain meds ucan def feel the pressure from the baby into you backside as well as the front specially during contractions
